Monday
I have been helping mum clean the kitchen today. She was
quite busy cleaning the surfaces and the floor. She left
a corner cupboard open though, and that was a mistake.
I hopped inside for an investigation and got stuck in
the corner. There is a gap you see, the cupboard turns
to 90 degrees and there is a drop to the floor between
that and the next cupboard. Whilst trying to lick the
floor I got my legs stuck in the small gap and couldn't
get out. I screamed and screamed until mum looked into
the cupboard and pulled me out. I won't be going in there
again for a while! After that she made sure that all the
cupboards were closed so I couldn't get stuck again! I
then helped to her to clean the floor by standing next
to the mop bucket and helping her push the mop. She didn't
appreciate my help, so I went in my room to watch the
birds.
There
are loads of birds on the table and feeder lately. They
are always there and give me many hours of pleasurable
watching.
Wednesday
It must be winter. My bed is on the pipe that goes into
the radiator and up to now it's been quite cool. Today
they turned up the radiator and it's nice and toasty on
my bed now. I have been there all day soaking up the heat
from the pipe and making sure I am the hottest cat in
the street.
Thursday
We have a new squirrel in our garden. It has a red head
and red stripe down its back and mum has spent hours watching
it play in the garden and she even leaves nuts down for
it on the patio. I think this is cruel to me. She is sat
in my room against the French doors watching the squirrel
play and I am upstairs in the window salivating. She encourages
it to come to our garden to eat and I have to sit there
and watch it, in MY territory. That can't
be fair!
Friday
I must stop being so inquisitive. I nearly got caught
in the tumble dryer today. Mum was doing some washing
and the washer and dryer doors were open. It's my job
to look inside every space in the house and I was just
doing my job. I jumped into the washer on top of all the
wet, but clean washing and then jumped into the dryer,
mum was out of the room and she came back and shut the
door, with me still inside. I pushed my face against the
plastic window and thankfully she saw me before she turned
it on and cooked me. I jumped out so quickly. I will think
twice before I jump into these appliances again!
This afternoon mum cut back the rose bushes ready for
the winter. She left the back door open and I ran out
to play in the garden. I hate being on my own. If mum
is in the house I have to be quite near her or I am not
happy. She was too busy to play with me so I took my cat
charmer toy outside and played with it in the garden.
At one point she turned around I was throwing it in the
air and catching it, she watched me with amusement for
a few minutes and then carried on with the rose bushes.
When I got bored I went back inside to watch from the
warmth, but I left my toys in the garden. She was not
happy that I had took them outside but not brought them
back in. She told me I was worse than a child for being
messy. What an insult!
Saturday
A busy day today. There were loads of people here. Dad's
brother came to do some work on his car outside and I
was helping him… he was spraying paint and I love the
smell. I was sat quite close to the car until I realised
I was in danger of becoming a skunk. Not only did I smell,
but I had a thin white line of spray paint down my back.
Luckily mum managed to get it off before it dried and
changed my species.
Shortly
after this, 3 more people came. Dad's son, my playmate
Nick came for the day and he was brought by dad's mum
and dad. They are cat people and she played with me for
ages on the settee. Not at all worried by the fact I smelt
of spray paint and was all wet! It was nice to be played
with by different people. I spend ages going between cuddles
from different people. What an excellent day!
Sunday
A quiet day today, I spent it sleeping on my warm bed.
It was cold, and I needed the radiator to sleep properly!
Monday
I hope I don't get dragged to the vet again. You can tell
it's winter. I am developing these bald patches on the
back of my hind legs. Last year mum took me to the vet
because of it and he told her that they are pressure marks.
I don't get them in the summer as there are always windows
open that I can do daring jumps from and escape. In the
winter these windows are shut and I am trapped in the
house, until mum either opens the front door or goes in
the back garden to feed the birds. I have limited time
to escape and she normally manages to block my exits first
so I can't get out. Therefore, I spend more time sat on
the windowsills watching the life in the street and garden,
wishing I was out there. These marks have come back again
and she keeps looking at them with interest, I hope she
doesn't take me to the vet. She was saying to dad that
it could be because my bum is so heavy that it's causing
these marks with the weight of my body sat down for so
long. How can she say that my slender black behind is
too large? Cheeky woman! She can't put me
on another diet, I'm still hungry all the time and I don't
want my allowances cut again
Wednesday
I spent most of the day asleep in my box today. It's nice
and warm and dark so the sun doesn't wake me up in the
day. The squirrel was sat on our garden fence for ages
swinging its tail around in circles and occasionally jumping
onto the neighbours washing line to eat from the nut bags
that hang there. I managed to escape this afternoon through
the office window onto the garage roof and away. I ran
straight into the garden to catch that cheeky squirrel.
I didn't realise though that mum was in the kitchen and
she ran outside and pulled me off the fence and locked
me back inside… bah! And she had shut the
window so I couldn't get back out. I thought I was going
to get a squirrel lunch, but I was sadly disappointed.
She even had the nerve to tell me off for trying to catch
it… it's in my nature to catch these things, she can't
tell me off for that.
Thursday
The
cleaner came again today and I hid under the bed until
she had gone. Then I sat on the windowsill miaowing at
all the birds outside. I couldn't get out but I was trying
to ask for mum to catch me one for tea. I'm sick of tuna
diet biscuits and want something bigger with more taste.
A nice fat bird would have done nicely, but she either
didn't understand me, or decided I was not to have something
so nice, or maybe she didn't want to kill one for my tea.
They eat chicken, so what's the difference? (although
I may add that they don't kill these themselves!)
Friday
A boring day today. I spent it watching henry playing
in the street, and watching the squirrel playing in our
garden. All the other animals are having fun and I'm stuck
in here watching them. It's not fair!
