Fortnight 61

Monday

I ran upstairs this morning and did my usual job of waking sleepy head mum up. Normally I wake her by miaowing and rubbing my head on her face. As I got onto the bed for the usual routine I needed to sneeze. It took me completely by surprise and as I moved my head close to her to rub her face, I sneezed three times in her face. I don't think she was too happy to be woken by cat snot. It was an accident though; I hope I'm not getting a cold as that means another trip to the vets.

It was a hot day today and the paddling pool was out in the garden. I stood with my 2 front paws on the side looking at the water. I was nearly tempted to jump in, but I am so nervous of large areas of water. I gave it a good sniff and then ran away.

Thursday

It's been a hot and humid week and I have spent it asleep on the bed. It's too hot to sit by the window and too humid to play so I have been very boring and spent it asleep. It's what we cats do best!

Saturday

Another really hot day today. Mum and dad spent it in the lounge playing on the playstation. I sat and watched the game. It looked a good game and I was sat right in front of the TV so I got a better view. They were playing "The Italian Job", if you sit really close to a big TV it looks like you are driving the car so I could be involved in the game… seeing as cats don't have thumbs, I can't play, but I can watch and learn!

Sunday

Something strange is happening in our house. Mum and dad spent the afternoon packing stuff out of the cupboards in the kitchen and I gave them a helping paw. I made sure that all the boxes were strong by jumping in them, just as they wanted to put something in there. When they made me get out, I waited for them to put their stuff in and then got right back inside to check out what was being put away. I had great fun, but I don't think I helped them much. A lot of the cupboards are empty now and there is a big pile of boxes in the garage. I wonder what will happen, only time will tell so watch this space.

Monday

I did mum such a big favour this morning. I killed a whopper of a spider in my bedroom. Mum jumped when she saw it, even though it was quite squashed and rather dead. I didn't eat it, I don't like spiders, but I know mum is scared of them so I made sure I killed it.

Tuesday

Such a beautiful smell, where is it coming from?

Mum did the weekly shop as usual today but when she came home there was an alluring smell coming from the kitchen. I spent ages trying to find it and worked out it was coming from the cooker. At tea time this gorgeous looking chicken was taken from the cooker, that's what I could smell…. None for me though unfortunately. After their tea I jumped on the kitchen unit, I'm not allowed to do that but I had to find where the remainder of the chicken was. I saw it through the microwave glass but clever mum had put it out of reach. I can't open the microwave door, much as I tried it would not open for me.

Thursday

Oh yes! A day to remember!

This is the best day in ages. It was the first day that I got fed normal biscuits for ages. My diet is over, I now weigh in at a trim 4Kg exactly. The purrrrfect weight for a stud of a cat like me! I am no longer on the Hill's Prescription diet food and am back on normal biscuits. A smaller ration than I used to have but they are so much nicer. I ate my food so quickly that I sat there burping for a few minutes after. You don't hear cats burp that often, but I did a rip roaring one that would make cats' world wide jealous of my talents!

The cleaner came again this morning, and I spent the morning guarding my food bowl. Not having her steal any of my precious biscuits. They are ALL mine! She will insist on putting all my toys on my bed cushion… does she not realise that cats don't have hands and I therefore can't get them off to clear my bed. It took mum 2 days last time to realise and clear my bed for me. I did have a try at moving the toys but I soon gave it up as a useless job. Dad did it for me though so I can at least sleep on my cushion tonight.
