Monday
Had a busy day today playing with the fish mobile and
chasing mini mice around my room. Mum was looking for
something last night and lifted the settee and all of
a sudden 4 mini mice appeared… they must be the ones I
lost a few months ago. As soon as I saw them I was in
heaven. I have missed playing with them and a bonus point
is, because I have already played with them, they smell
nice already… cool!
Had
a long rest on dad's sofa tonight, it's better than sleeping
on the floor as dad is next to me so I keep warm and I
get the odd stroke.. can't get better than that can you!
I also got to play on his toy - the GameBoy Advance. It
must be good because he spends ages playing on it each
night so I gave it a go… you can see me in the picture
trying to get the hang of watching the screen… not managed
to press the buttons correctly yet, but I will learn!

Tuesday
Mum
has been talking to a nice lady in Wigan via email and
she bought me some toys today. What a lovely lady. She
usually makes them for the RSPCA but she was very nice
to me and dropped me around a catnip ball and 2 catnip
mice and a big bowl of catnip. How cool is that? She makes
them herself…. And puts dried catnip in so little furry
kitties like me can play with toys that they are naturally
attracted to. I spent a lovely couple of hours playing
with the mice and the ball, before falling asleep over
both of them. I had to lie on top of them in case someone
wanted to play whilst I was asleep - can't be having that!

Spent a while in the garden this afternoon with mum and
dad helping them. They came home yesterday with a number
of spiky bushes, that they kept calling Roses. Today they
dug holes in the garden and planted them. I sat above
them on the wall watching to make sure they were doing
it right… they got some mad idea that I wanted to help
but as soon as they came near me with a trowel full of
soil I legged it into the trees. There is no way they
are putting soil on me! I wanted to get closer to the
fat Magpie in the tree anyway and it was a perfect reason
to vacate the wall… I nearly managed to catch the fat
bird as well, until it flew too high and I couldn't climb
fast enough to get it… next time I will though!
As soon as they had finished doing all the planting they
went inside and Molly came around to call. She was very
interested in sitting in the newly dug flowerbed and looking
at the roses, until I realised she wasn't looking, she
was going to the toilet! How cheeky! I hadn't even
been yet and it's MY garden - everybody
knows cats love newly dug earth! Oh well… I will have
to go in another of the places that they were digging!
Thursday
Still trying to get the buttons on the GameBoy but no
luck yet. I think it is a major design fault of paws…
no fingers so you can't press buttons. Still, perseverance
is the key and I will not give up until my paws are sore
with trying!
There
has always been a large block of polystyrene at the back
of the settee to keep it away from the radiator, and I
often go to play with it as it shreds so nicely.. and
everyone knows I love to shred things. Today I actually
managed to crawl down the back of the sofa (I have been
on a bit of a diet) and got to have a taste of the polystyrene
block. When I came out both mum and dad laughed very loudly
at me.. I could feel something was wrong but couldn't
quite put my paw on what it was… when I turned my head
something didn't feel quite right. There was something
giving me slightly extra weight there… I ran into my room
where if you stand at the right angle you can see your
reflection in the window. There was a single ball of polystyrene
on the end of my nose… just balanced there. It was really
strange. Even though I shook my head, licked my lips and
nose and ran around like a mad thing - it still stayed
there… after about 20 minutes it fell off on the carpet
thankfully… another reason that cats should be given fingers..
so they can pull things off their noses! (oh, and obviously
play the GameBoy as well!)

Friday
Mum and dad went out for the day today and left me from
just before lunch until about teatime. They left me loads
of food and water so I wasn't hungry and loads of toys
to play with. I spent the day playing with my Tail Tikkler
and the cat Charmer. When they came in they were both
really wet, I guess it had been raining where they were
today. I was absolutely shattered after playing all day,
they tried to get me to play fetch with the squidgy ball,
but I was so tired that after a few throws I lay down
by the side of it and went to sleep. It was quite near
to the stairlift so I lay against the stairlift, so if
they moved and went upstairs I would know about it, and
went to sleep!

Saturday
Mum was cleaning out my room today like she does every
morning and I was looking out of the window at the garden.
Molly came to the window and was sat outside miaowing
at me. She looked so cute, I went to the window to say
hello and then this other cat came up to the window as
well. Molly sat there looking so proud, and the other
cat was Henry, her son. He was sat so close to the window
that his face was squashed on my glass. I was not impressed.
When Molly realised I couldn't come out to join her and
play in the garden she went, but Henry was still there
and he stayed and played in our garden for over an hour.
I was not impressed. He is not welcome here, only Molly.
Sunday
It was a lovely day today and dad took the Cat Charmer
toy outside and we were playing in the garden for ages.
It was excellent. He hung the stick over the clothes airer
and let it dangle down so I could play. I kept trying
to climb up the metal pole though, and they were both
laughing at me. After a while dad took it out from the
clothes line and played with me in the garden and the
flowerbeds… we had a good time. Molly was watching us
from the garden wall, thankfully Henry was not to be seen.
There was a cricket match on the pitch behind our house
and there were loads of people in the field. I sat in
a tree after I got bored with playing with dad. There
were loads of children in the woods and they kept calling
to me… I think that they wanted to play. I wasn't in a
sociable mood so I climbed higher into the tree and watched
them from a safe distance. And they were calling me "Blackie"….
I only answer to my proper name, so they had no chance!
Monday
Dad went back to work today so it was just me and mum
again. It was a bit boring in the day as she was busy
doing house stuff. I followed her around the house watching
and helping, but I just seemed to get in the way so I
stayed on the settee and tried to use the GameBoy again,
but I still can't manage it. Dad played with me and the
Tail Tikkler tonight. He was holding it really high and
seeing if I could jump and get it, you can see from the
picture that I was able to get quite high….

Wednesday
Earlier in the diaries I mentioned that mum and dad had
a big bean bag seat that I was scared off. Well, at the
weekend the bean bag disappeared. They went out and took
it with them and when they came back, they didn't bring
it…. Hurrah! It's gone! It had a cover on because I used
to jump on and off it quickly, but stay there just long
enough to leave black fluff on it… well, the cover is
still here and it is left on the settee, doing nothing.
Tonight I decided to be brave and to see if the cover
was as dangerous as the bean bag. I discovered that it
wasn't dangerous, but it was REALLY comfy and after walking
over it in circles for about 5 minutes I finally found
a good spot and had a quick nap. It is very comfy and
you can hide your head in the opening so you don't have
bright light in your face when trying to sleep. I think
it will make a nice bed, when I don't fancy sleeping in
my own room.
