Monday
I have been shouting at mum all day to let me out but
she won't. It's not fair. It looks really nice outside
but she won't open the door for me. She has been on the
computer for ages today and not had much time for me.
I keep going in and saying hello and she gives me a quick
cuddle and then turns back to the computer. What has that
lump of metal and plastic have that I haven't? Apart from
Internet capability!!! I have been very patient though
and was rewarded late afternoon when she came and sat
with me and gave me an excellent cuddle.
Wednesday
Mum
has been sat in the garden this afternoon reading a book.
She let me out to play in the garden and I sat on the
table next to her and fell asleep. When I got hot I moved
into the nearest big bush where it was shady. Molly came
round to play, but as soon as mum saw her I got carried
inside and the door was shut. It's not fair, I wanted
to play but I'm not allowed to come into contact with
other cats as I can make them ill like me.
I spent the evening behind the curtains in my room watching
the other cats in our garden. They were looking at me
inside, but I couldn't join them. I kept running in to
mum and dad and going to the door, hinting I wanted to
go out but they didn't open it for me.
Thursday
Mum went out this morning and left me inside to watch
the world go past from their bedroom window. Only one
problem - she left the window open. She looked really
surprised when she came back and I greeted her on the
path. I ran off quickly though so she couldn't get me
inside. She went in and left the French doors open so
that I could come in later and she went upstairs on the
computer. Around mid-afternoon I left her a present on
the carpet in the lounge. A big mouse. I haven't caught
a mouse for ages. When I was younger I mentioned in the
diaries that I wanted to try and beat the record for the
largest number of catches, well now I am an indoor cat
I have fallen behind so it's a token to keep my paw in!
When cats leave presents for their humans, it's a gift
of love. I don't think she was too happy when she walked
across the front room and trod on it! She doesn't wear
shoes in the house, so I think she got a bad surprise
and didn't see it as a gift of love at all. I hid behind
the doors on the patio watching but when she came out
looking for me I legged it over the wall onto the cricket
pitch, as I knew she would not be able to catch me. I
think I will keep out of her way for a while. At least
until she gets chance to wash her feet!
Usually
in an evening mum and dad sit downstairs and watch TV
and I lie on their bedroom windowsill and watch the other
cats in the street and life going past. Tonight I decided
it was time for a change. Both windows were still open
and one of them drops nicely onto the garage roof. Whilst
they were watching TV, I escaped! It's the first time
in months, (since February and it's now August) that I
have spent a night outside. I head them call me a number
of times in the evening after they realised I had gone
on a walkabout but I didn't come when they called. I went
out playing and hunting.
Friday
Mum
called me this morning, I was asleep in the next door
but one neighbours garden and I ran across the fence like
a black lightening streak - IT'S BREAKFAST TIME
and I'm STARVING! I had an excellent time last
night and I am going to recuperate my energy by spending
the day asleep on their bed!
Sunday
Mum isn't well this weekend. She has been gasping for
breath and using a noisy thing for her asthma. I have
been helping her get well again by staying by her side
and giving her cuddles. She went to bed for a while this
afternoon and I curled up on her legs and made sure that
she rested well in bed.
After
a while she came downstairs and watched a film with dad.
I got bored watching the film and played a game of "There's
something behind you…..", or chase the long black thing
that you can see over your shoulder. It was the first
time that dad had seen me play "Chase my tail" and he
was laughing lots. Mum couldn't believe that he didn't
think I played this… you see EVERYTHING
in this diary is true! I played it for ages, but I can't
run up the wall and chase it now as the stairlift is there
so I was jumping for it, I looked like a long black rod
flipping round trying to catch my tail…. A very rewarding
game for all cats to play… this game is not just restricted
to dogs. I am proof!
Tuesday
Mum bought me a new toy today from the pet shop, it's
a fish mobile that you stick on the door and can play
with. I have played with it for hours today and it's lots
of fun. It also smells of catnip, which is very addictive
to cats and every time I walk past it and smell the catnip,
I HAVE to go for a play! Click
here to see pictures of me playing.
Thursday
I
spent a while chasing flies in the house today. Mum had
a number of windows open and there were a few flies in
the house. I spent an hour or so chasing the ones in my
bedroom. Check out the picture below to see how high I
was jumping to try and catch them.
