Saturday
Oh no, something bad is in the offing. The cat carrier
is out and mum is trying to catch me… not likely.. every
time that come out I end up going to the vets, and I don't
want to be in there after I was so sick in it the other
week!
Damn! She cornered me and then threw my ball into the
basket and like a complete idiot I ran in after it and
the door was swiftly closed behind me…. What have I done??????????
Tuesday
Home
again. I was taken to the vet to board, as I am not allowed
in a cattery as I am FIV+ and could infect other cats.
I have to stay in the isolation ward at our vets. Mum
and dad went to the British Grand Prix and were away for
a couple of days. They both have red faces where they
got sunburnt and they look funny! It was nice to be home
and mum gave me loads of cuddles, but dad has had to go
away with work again. Still getting the ear drops shoved
in my ear, which I still don't like… It's so nice to be
home again though!
Wednesday
Mum got a new plant today as a thank you for helping a
friend out yesterday. She got a jug with water in to give
it a drink. The jug was a plastic jug that she uses in
the kitchen.. a 1 litre jug and it was half full of water.
The telephone rang so she left the jug on the windowsill
to answer the phone. Although I have a large bowl of water
in my room for me to drink I love drinking from strange
places so I just HAD to push my head in the jug
and taste the water that smelt so nice. The only thing
is that my head is slightly too wide to get in easily.
My face was made longer and my ears were pushed up and
backwards against my head … but I had a nice drink. When
mum turned around and saw me she started laughing so much
that she had to put the telephone down. I looked up to
see what she was laughing at, as I said before my head
is slightly too big for the jug and as I looked up the
jug came with me and tipped the rest of the water all
over my face! As I shook it off the jug came too… spreading
about a half a litre of water all over the sofa.. at least
I didn't get told off, she was too busy laughing. The
jug was left there for about an hour as you have to water
these plants in stages, I had about 3 drinks from the
jug… it tasted nice and fresh… I wish dad could have seen
it as I bet he would have laughed as well.
Mum got a lovely bouquet of flowers delivered today. After
drinking all the water, I was quite peckish and the flowers
smelt so nice I had to have a taste. I was munching away
on the leaf of some plant when mum caught me and tried
to trick me away from the flowers with fishy.. It didn't
work though… fresh water and flowers.. a tasty snack that
I won't be pulled away from.
After that mum got me a new mouse (mini mouse toys that
are so realistic, even I can believe that they are real
little mice) and I pushed it into my cider box and played
hide and seek for an hour or so while mum watched TV.
I kept going back to the flowers .. I made it look like
I was having a smell of them but when she looked away
I tried to bite them… she kept picking me up and moving
me away from the vase… there is a big bow tied around
the vase and I managed to get the end in my teeth and
pull, I undid it and nearly tipped the vase over… after
that they were moved out of my reach….
Friday
I found a new place to sleep today. Mum and dad have a
shower over their bath and for a few hours after each
shower the shower curtain is shut for it to dry out. I
jumped into the bath, as it is dark with the curtain closed.
Mum came into the bathroom to open the curtain and she
made me really jump! She gave me a shock! I jumped out
of the bath and sat on the edge of the sink, which is
right next to the bath. Mum turned on the cold tap to
see what I would do, I started to tap the water by the
plug with my front paw, but it was really cold and I started
to shake my paw really quickly and I sprayed mum and most
of the bathroom. Then I decided that if I ate the water
as it came out of the tap my feet wouldn't get wet. I
started to snap at the water just where it comes out of
the tap with my mouth. It didn't do what I thought (I
thought I could catch it all in my mouth, and stop myself
getting wet), and I got water all over my face and whiskers.
I got such a shock that that happened that I lost my footing
on the edge of the sink and slid into all the water at
the bottom. Boy, did I get wet! After a quick drink of
the nice cold water I jumped out onto mum's knee and dried
myself off on her skirt! When she turned the tap off I
jumped back into the sink and started batting the tap
with my paw. I was telling it off for making me wet. I
didn't expect water to start coming out again! So I started
the "stop the water" game all over again. I spent about
30 minutes playing in the sink and then realised that
there was more water, that wasn't moving in the big white
bowl so I jumped onto the toilet and started to play with
that.. but mum picked me up just as I started to climb
in…. bah… spoilsport!
Sunday
Phew!!! It's been hot the last few days. Mum and
dad sat in the garden this afternoon and they let me out
to play with them for a while. I lay with them for a while
on the grass and then went smelling all the new smells
in the plants and then lay down in the middle of the long
firegrass and went to sleep. Purrrrrrrrfect !!!!
I beat a hasty retreat though when mum and dad started
attacking each other with the hosepipe; don't want to
get wet unnecessarily! It may be hot, but it's not THAT
hot!
Monday
"Happy
Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday Dear
Jack…." I think you may have
guessed by now. It's my birthday today and I am 2 years
old. 2 Happy purring years, but what do you think that
they (mum and dad) have got the cat who has everything
for his birthday?
It has been another nice day again today and mum was sat
in the garden most of the day, and, same as yesterday
I was allowed out to play again. It's too hot to be in
the house in weather like this when you can't open a window.
After playing with mum for a while, and then chasing the
flies, I fell asleep under a big bush with loads of shade
around it. There have been loads of flies today and I
love chasing them across the garden, I can jump quite
high but amazingly they always fly out of the way when
I jump. Not managed to catch one yet, but as long as I
am allowed in the garden, I will keep trying.
Still no sign of a birthday present. Not sure what they
can get me, I already have LOADS of toys, and cat centres,
and play boxes…. Mmm a tough one!
Oh
purrs, they got me a massive tin of proper, not
Kitty, tuna for my tea. Oh, I'm so happy. I smelt her
open the tin and ran to check it out, as I always do,
but usually they eat it. Imagine my surprise when mum
took it over to MY bowl and put it in there.
I ate it so quick in case she had made a mistake! I saved
a small bit to eat when I go to bed…. What a cool pressie,
do you think they knew it is my favourite?
Tuesday
Mum got sunburnt yesterday so she is not outside today.
Bah! Coz that means that I can't go outside either. The
door to the garden is shut, but the keys are in it. I
keep hinting that I want to go outside by standing on
my back legs and pushing the keys from side to side with
my front paws but after a while she took the keys out,
foiled again!
Well, the evening has come and I didn't get to go outside
today. Never mind, maybe tomorrow.
Wednesday
Mum had an early appointment so they were both up early
this morning. I'm not used to being woken at 7:30am any
more! I normally get to sleep in until about 9am so I'm
quite tired now. It's been an interesting day, I got the
run of the house this morning and I spent most of my time
standing over the open window in their bedroom watching
Molly underneath. I didn't jump out this time though,
gave me a fright last time and I don't wish to repeat
that for a while.
Mum had a visitor this afternoon with a very interesting
briefcase. It smelt of other cats, it was very large and
full of my favourite thing - paper! I just had to jump
in to check it out fully. Once inside I set to chewing
the corner of this shiny paper leaflet straight away,
before they noticed. I think mum knew what I was going
to do as she started to smile and nudge dad. The visitor
didn't notice for a while and they weren't too happy about
it, I can tell you!
Thursday
I
had an excellent night tonight. Mum was playing with fishy
and she hid it under the rug in the front room and I had
to try and find it… a fun game to play. I kept pretending
it wasn't there and pouncing on it, or running under the
rug. Mum took some pictures of me playing, which you can
see below.

Friday
Mum's
been in all day today waiting for someone to fix their
fridge so I got played with loads. When they came I ran
and hid in the bedroom… well, they had a big box with
them and I may get stuck under it! Not been outside since
the start of the week and I really want to. I know you
can get out by pushing the handle down, but it's quite
stiff and I can't push it down so I can't get out! I sometimes
push the keys with my paws, but they just move them out
of the way as yesterday when I did that they fell out
of the lock and landed in my litter tray.. mmm lovely!
