Fortnight 32

Sunday

Another boring weekend. Didn't do much… same as humans really. Sleep and eat and a bit of play. An easy life!

Monday

My ears have been really annoying me over the last few days. Very itchy and really annoying. Mum brought out the cat basket this afternoon so I guess it means that I am going to the vets for him to look at them for me.

Ooooooooh no! I think I am in trouble now! On the way back from the vets I managed to tip over the carrier in the boot of the car. It made me feel really ill though, stood in the basket that had flipped through 90 degrees. Just as mum turned in to the top of our street I was really sick. I couldn't help it… when she stopped the car and opened the boot she didn't look too happy. I was stood in the basket on its side with sick all over the inside of the basket and me! The worst part was that the basket has holes down each side and because the basket was on its side all the sick was dripping through the holes onto the carpet in the car. Mum opened the basket and let me out in the garden to clean myself off and she washed the inside of the car and then the basket. When she let me in the house soon after she put drops in my ear… as if I haven't been through enough today! I shook my head and left little waxy drops all over dad and the wallpaper. Don't think that they were too impressed, but they didn't put any more in!

Tuesday

I think that the ear drops are a regular thing for a while as I got some more put in today. I don't mind it though as they are not as itchy as they have been for a while…. After all this time mum has finally learnt how to throw fishy how I like it. I stand a bit away from her and she flicks it into the air so I can jump up for it. We spent ages playing tonight. I think it was a "sorry" for the eardrops!

Wednesday

Dad has been away for the last day and mum and I have been playing lots. I have even started sitting on her knee whilst she watches TV. I haven't done that since I became an indoor cat. I had forgot how nice it is to sit there and get continuous cuddles! Mum is a bit upset today as someone in the street heard someone talking and thinks that mum has been reported for animal cruelty as I spend so long hanging out of the window in the bedroom. How can she be reported for cruelty? I am spoilt rotten and definitely never hurt.

Friday

I jumped out of the office window this morning and was reviewing life on the street from the top of the garage, with mum trying to coax me down, when 2 strange men arrived at our house. I jumped down to see who they were and mum picked me up. I lay there stretched out in her arms purring and the men introduced themselves… they were here to look into the animal cruelty report. They came into our house and were really surprised at how many toys I have around the house and that I stay in mum's arms purring for so long. Once they knew that I was a special cat as I am FIV+ and can't go outside but am still adapting to the indoor only thing they were OK. They said I looked really healthy *GRIN*, and obviously not abused as I am so loving and not nervous of mum at all. I played with them for a while and they played back, although they didn't know how I like fishy to be thrown… I took it to mum for her to show them… if they are going to play - they may as well get it right!!!!

They are not pressing any charges and I get to stay here which is really excellent. Spent the afternoon sat on mum's knee as she watched TV… it's such a hard life!

Sunday

Not much has happened this weekend. Spent last night playing in the cider box with fishy, and, today I have been moving from window ledge to window ledge watching other people moving around the street. I am so nosey! If I lie in the lounge window then I can see all the people and the birds as well… so maybe I may get to catch one.. if it will fly near enough the window when it is open. I know that it is a small chance but you can never give up hope can you?

Monday

It has rained all day today and I have spent it asleep on the windowsill in the bedroom. Don't even want to try and get outside in weather like this. Mum is still putting eardrops in my ear, as apparently it is still dirty. I hate having them put in and try to shake them across the room hitting as much furniture and wallpaper as possible… but she has devised a way so that none gets sprayed across the room - foiled again! She puts in the drops and then gently holds down the tip of my ear and rubs it against the base of the ear so the liquid gloops down into the ear before I get a chance to shake and distribute it over the room!

Wednesday

Not much happened today. It is still raining and I spent the majority of the day sleeping on mum and dad's bed. Mum got me a new squidgy ball today and I spent ages playing fetch tonight. I haven't had a new ball for ages, so I enjoyed playing fetch tonight.

Thursday

Mum put new covers on the settees in the front room today. The covers are massive and when she pulled the old one's off it landed on me and I couldn't find my way back out! I had fun playing inside the cover for a while. After she had done the covers she sat outside for a while in the garden and let me go out for a play. I spent about 10 minutes in the garden. I ate a bit of grass and went round smelling the other cat's markings in the garden. There are lots of new smells out there and it was so exciting being able to play in the garden. When I got bored I went inside and lay under the table on my bed. It was a nice change to be in the garden for a while.

Friday

Every morning dad comes down on his way to work and gives me a cuddle and then shuts me back in the room until mum comes down a bit later. This morning I left a large and smelly deposit in the litter tray and the room smelt really bad, I couldn't wait for dad to come down and let me out! He opened the door and emptied the tray into a bag to put in the bin. He shut the door so I couldn't get out and went to put the bag in the bin. There was NO WAY I was staying in that room because it smelt, so I managed to open the door. As dad opened the front door to go to the bin I shot out and ran into the front garden. He was running late so he couldn't catch me to put me back inside, and he went to work. The only problem is I didn't see that it is raining really heavily. When mum came down an hour or so later she went into my room and the door was open. I could see she was really confused. I was miaowing but she couldn't see me, as she turned round I grabbed onto the windowsill so she could see my wet head in the window and she let me in. I was SOAKED! I had forgot what it was like to be so wet. My fur was stuck up like a punk and my feet were soaking, not much fun. I ran upstairs and rolled around on their bed to remove the excess water, she will be mad when she sees the muddy patch on the duvet! It was nice to spend an hour or so in the outside world, didn't get to see Molly though, unfortunately.
