Fortnight

Saturday
Mum and dad were out all day today. They left late this
morning and got back about 8pm covered in mud. Apparently
they went to some outdoor concert and it rained all day.
I played in my room all day and when they got back they
played with me lots. I was playing with the cider box
and the mouse that rattles.
Sunday
I had an excellent day today. Dad lay on the floor and
played with fishy. He kept flicking it from side to side
and I was running for it. We played like this for 2 hours.
I was shattered and panting after, and, slept for ages.
When I got up we did it again. I love playing like that.
Monday
I
killed a massive spider today. It was in my room and walking
next to the duvet that I sleep on. I batted it with my
paw and it stopped moving. I left it there for mum to
see how clever I was. She jumped when she saw it, as she
is scared of spiders, but at least it was dead!
Wednesday
It was quite sunny this afternoon and whilst mum was watching
TV I pulled my duvet from under the dining table into
the sunlight from the windows. Mum was watching me pull
the duvet across the floor and she was laughing. I must
admit I must have looked a bit strange. Holding a corner
of the big double duvet in my mouth and pulling it into
the spot that I wanted to lie in. It worked though, as
I got to lie in the sun, in comfort on my duvet!
Thursday
The
window cleaner came today and we played an ace game. He
was cleaning the French windows and when he was doing
the bottom panes of glass I tried to catch his window
thing. As he went up and down the glass I stood on my
back legs and tried to catch it. Then when he did the
other side I moved over to play again. When he did the
top level I jumped on the table and stood on the back
of the chair and reached out with my front paws, trying
to reach the window. The only trouble was that the chair
was too far away and, as I leant forward to grab the thing
I fell off! He laughed at me and so did mum. I ran off
quickly to the front window to wait for him, but he left.
Next time I will catch the cleaning thing. It's the first
time that he has been that I haven't run away and hid,
I am getting more confident so next time, I will play
again!
Dad
was away tonight and mum and I played fetch for ages and
then I hid in the cider box and went to sleep. When I
woke up mum was lying on the floor with fishy and we played
for ages. She was doing what dad did the other night,
flicking fishy around and making me chase it. I love playing
that game.
Saturday
As
mum opened the curtains in my room this morning, the first
thing I saw was that awful tomcat mating with Molly again.
Mum went outside and made him go away but he started howling,
so mum spent AGES trying to catch him to
see if he was OK. Why did she not spend the time cuddling
me instead of trying to look after that nasty cat? How
dare he move in on my Molly? Anyway, she came back a bit
later on her own so I guess he was OK.
Sunday
Mum
and dad have spent ages cleaning the house over the last
few days. Everything has been moved out of the spare bedroom
and the bed made and the room tidy. I wonder what is happening?
It was a nice day today and I really wanted to go outside
but they wouldn't let me. When they were sat in the garden
for a while this afternoon I tried so hard to get outside,
but with no luck. I stood on the table and put my front
paws on the door handle, usually it pushes down and I
get outside, but it was locked so all my pushing was in
vain.
Tuesday
Jubilee
Bank Holiday Weekend
It has been a Bank Holiday in the UK yesterday and today
and mum and dad were at home doing the last of the tidying
up. They left early this morning and arrived back mid-afternoon
with a guest, an Australian guest. She loves cats and
spent ages playing with me. She smells of cats, I think
she has one of her own. It was nice to be cuddled by someone
new. I was not afraid of her, (I'm usually afraid of people
I don't know) and loved being fussed.
Wednesday
Our houseguest is Mum's cousin, and I just found out that
she has a cat. She has Tigger (Click
here to see Tigger on the gallery board), so that's
why she smells of cat and likes cuddling me… I'm a Tigger
substitute! Mum and our guest went out for the day but
I got so fussed when they came back! I spent ages sleeping
on her bed today! I managed to find my way outside 3
- yes 3 times today! The first time was after mum cleaned
my room this morning. As she went outside with the dirty
cat litter I darted in front of her and got a brief couple
of seconds in the sun! When dad came home this afternoon
I ran out to greet him as the inside door was not shut
and I was out for about 5 minutes. After tea the window
in the lounge was open and as they were all talking I
jumped up to the window, put my paws on the outside and
slid down the window until I landed on the path outside.
Boy did I leg it up the drive quickly! By the time they
got outside to see where I was I was on the top of the
neighbours garage. I spent about 40 minutes up there looking
around. It was excellent. They tried to get me down, but
I will come down when I'm ready! When I was bored I ran
up the drive to the French doors and ran on the window
until they let me back in. It was lovely to feel to the
raindrops on my fur again.
Thursday
Been crying at the door a lot today, as after yesterday
I really want to go outside. Mum won't let me though.
Our guest went this afternoon so no more cuddles. I wish
she could have stayed a bit longer but she has gone hiking
in Peru, before she heads back to Australia. Sounds far
away to me as she won't get there until Friday night…
I don't think I'll ever go to Peru as it's beyond my boundaries
as it must be further away than the bottom of our drive!
