Fortnight 221Confessions of a Mad CatFortnight 223

Fortnight 222

Saturday

Boxing Day

We all stayed inside today watching cars in the street skid and get stuck outside our house. We were very happy to be warm and comfortable inside. It’s still snowing here as well, so that’s even more of a reason to stay inside.

We each got our own presents yesterday, but today mum made us one that we can share, it’s a track with a ball inside, I can't leave it alone, I spend ages playing with the ball. There are also activity bits inside the track filled with catnip, which Ozzy loves playing with. So, I sit outside the track playing with the ball, and Ozzy sits outside eating the catnip in the track bits. What a cool toy! Mum did us proud with this one! Ozzy plays with the ball as well occasionally, but he prefers the catnip stuff inside.

Tuesday

Well, the cars have finally stopped skidding in the street, so that source of entertainment has gone!! It's still really cold outside, I mean it must be cold as Ozzy had been outside for a while, waited at the window to be let in and then came in and went straight to the loo in the litter tray and then went straight back outside. If Ozzy won't go to the loo in the garden it has to be really, really cold!

Mum has been paying a lot of attention to Sid lately, our snake. She put this big box in the tank today, which Sid immediately got in, now we can see her really easily and both Ozzy and I sat watching her for hours.

Thursday

New Years Eve

Ozzy and I are both captivated by the track toy still. If I'm not sleeping, then I am playing with the track ball. I love this toy, I think it’s my favourite toy of all time.

I think mum is not happy with us for staring at Sid so much, she has put a blanket over the front of the tank to keep her covered. And, the noisy incubator came in from the garage, so they must be expecting snake eggs again.

Mum and dad stayed up really late tonight. I was shattered and wandered off into our bedroom and went to bed. I didn't even move when mum came in and put our night-time biscuits in our bowls.

Saturday

There were a lot of visitors to the house today, Ozzy went upstairs and slept in the office and I stayed around for cuddles. I also showed everyone how ace my new toy is, I hope they were all as impressed with it as I am.

Sunday

Mum took down the Cat Activity Centre (Christmas Tree), and all the other Christmas decorations today. The room looks really different now they have all gone. At least my toy is still there, I was getting worried for a few moments! What am I going to do with all my time not that the Cat Activity Centre has gone? Ah well, I suppose that leaves more time to play with the new toy – not a bad alternative!

Tuesday

Oh wow! We woke up today and looked outside and the white stuff is back, and it’s really deep this time. We couldn’t wait for mum to come down and let us outside so we could play in it. When she came down and let us outside, I ran out like a shot. I was really surprised how deep it was, it was up to the top my legs. It made walking slightly difficult, but I managed it. Even Ozzy was surprised how deep it was, he’s never seen it like this before. We both had a quick run around the garden, didn't try a jump onto the wall or fence though, didn't seem like a good idea, then we came back inside. We didn't go outside again for the rest of the day! Far too cold for either of us!

Wednesday

Well it's stopped snowing, but it's so cold it isn't going either. We both nipped out for a loo break in the snow before running back inside to the warmth of the house.

Friday

We’ve been staying in and playing a lot this week as the snow is not melting at all, and when you go outside your paws slide on the icy snow and it's not a pleasant experience at all I can tell you!!! I'm not one for sliding around so I've been staying in. Ozzy has been out a bit more than me, but not much by his standards. I've been whizzing around the house either chasing Ozzy or playing with a ball – have to burn off my excess energy somehow!!

Monthly Summary:

Favourite toy: Track Ball thing

Favourite place: In my radiator bed

Favourite pastime: Playing with the track ball

Least favourite thing: Snow
