Fortnight 218
Sunday
I hate this time of year, apparently, the clocks went back an hour last night. But to Ozzy and I, it just means that we are really hungry as it feels like we get fed an hour later. At our usual tea-time we were both sat by our bowls, but we had to wait another hour – how unkind is that????
Monday
We are both still really hungry, with the time difference. Humans may understand this time thing, but to us cats, it just seems totally unfair.
It got dark really early today, I guess it’s another result of the clock thing. It meant that we get a shorter time outside, another unfair thing!
Wednesday
Mum was out for ages this morning and when she came back she had a delivery and spent until 10pm on the computer messing around with a new MP3 player… why she has to transfer all her songs from her old one, heaven only knows.. and if she didn't have such a large player it wouldn’t take her all flippin’ day to transfer the stuff. It meant that I didn't get my usual 1000 cuddles today, and I am NOT impressed.
Thursday
Mum got up early today and started messing around with that dratted MP3 player again. She finally finished all the transfers by lunchtime, so at least I got chance to catch up on my cuddles.
Dad came home this afternoon with tons of bags and smelling of hospitals, so I guess he is home for good again. I suppose I will have to go for a welcome cuddle – reluctantly that is!
Saturday
Well, I finally went for a welcome cuddle today - only because mum had gone out and I wanted a cuddle so dad was the only option.
Sunday
Mum made me new toy today. She tied some feathers and the feather end off another toy onto some string and attached it to a floating balloon, so that the feathers floated just at my face height. I went mad playing with it, but as soon as she got out the camera I made sure I sat down and tried my hardest to ignore it. I hate having my picture taken, I'm not one for posing for pictures. I soon gave into the urge to play and carried on playing with it for the rest of the night.
Monday
My floating balloon is on the floor now as they only float the night they are made… so I spent a while playing with the feathers, dragging them around the house, but I soon got bored of that. Then I found a balloon with the feathers cut off, so just a short piece of string. I sat down for a while and ate the string, well, tried to eat the string.. I failed at eating it and shortly got rather bored so I decided to play with the trap ball thing. I spend ages playing with this, I think it may be my all time favourite toy.
Wednesday
It’s done nothing but rain really heavily all week, even Ozzy doesn’t want to go outside as it is that awful. We have spent our days sleeping on the sofa or in the radiator bed where it is nice and warm. When we get bored of sleeping we chase each other around the house and have play fights. These tire us out, so we get a bit of sleep and do it again!!!
Thursday
Bonfire Night
Mum would not let us out after it got dark tonight. We’ve been in all day as it has been raining really, really heavily, and neither of us wanted to get wet. Shortly after we wanted to go out, there was a massive fire in the field behind us. This lasted for a while and then it was followed by loads of bangs, and I mean loads of bangs. Ozzy told me it was Bonfire Night, which is why we don’t go outside tonight.
Ozzy spent the evening under the bed, but I am a curious cat and I sat with mum and dad watching the fire and the fireworks.
