Fortnight 207
Saturday
Gosh, I am soooooo tired. Mum, Nick and Becca stayed up until after 2am this morning. Ozzy and I were so tired that ages before they started to tidy up at bedtime, we were already in our beds trying to get to sleep. I spent all day today sleeping on the back of the sofa, I can't believe how tired I am. I'm not used to staying up so late. Also today I have been sneezing a lot, and being really snotty too. It’s been 3 weeks since I was on tablets, which is the longest I have ever been with no medication, but I think I need some more.
Sunday
I am still tired from Friday night, so have spent most of today catching up on my sleep. Cats sleep a lot anyway, but even more when we are really tired! I'm starting to sneeze even more today, I don’t feel very well, which is making me want to sleep even more.
Monday
I spent a lot of today outside in the garden chasing leaves in the wind. It’s a fun game and goes on for ages, especially on days like today when it is really windy! Just before I got my tea this evening mum caught me and gave me a tablet, I knew it was going to come so I wasn’t too surprised. I don’t mind too much as I know that they will make me start to feel a bit better.
Tuesday
It’s been another really windy day and I have spent ages playing my new game of “Chase the Leaf” in the garden. I came inside for the odd cuddle, and then went straight back outside.
Wednesday
It’s been a really sunny and warm day today. I spent the morning outside in the garden basking and catching some sun, then mum went out for a while and I got shut in the house for a while. When she came back she dug out the old catmint from the tubs on the patio and planted some new catmint plants in there for us to eat. I sat by and helped her, but I got bored quite quickly and went for a sunbath at the bottom of the garden instead!
Thursday
Today was the first day that I have started to feel better from the tablets, I am not sneezing or wheezing as much today and I feel so much better. This evening I was really bored and pacing around the front room. Mum got out a new toy, I know it’s not brand new as it smells of Jack, but I have not played with it before. It’s a long coloured thing called a Cat Charmer. I found it so addictive and I spent ages playing with it. I was really nervous of it first and sniffed it loads, and mum put it on my back and I ran away! I was soon quite sure of it and started to play enthusiastically. Even Ozzy came for a play and we were both chasing the Cat Charmer around the front room.
Friday
Today I was really tired and I was hoping to get a good day of napping in, but my plans didn't come off. All day there were people in and out of the house for various things, mending things that were broken, people coming to talk to mum and dad and for other things. Everybody went around late afternoon and I hadn’t even had chance for a nap! I went straight upstairs onto the bed for a quick nap and I stayed up there until late in the evening. Mum was really worried about me as I always come down for my tea, and I am never late for a meal, but today I didn't even come down for tea until about 10pm. I had had a lovely nap and felt much better for it. I had a play with the Cat Charmer and then curled up in my bed next to mum for another quick nap before bedtime!
Saturday
Mum and dad were both really tired today and went for a sleep this afternoon. I curled up on the bed inbetween them and had a lovely nap myself. What a perfect way to spend an afternoon!
Lately when I have been playing, my claws have been catching in the carpet as they are getting really long. Mum tried to cut them tonight but I wasn’t having any of it. I kept running away. Then she decided that Ozzy needed a brush, so he got loads of attention whilst he got brushed. He was really enjoying it and purring so loudly. I was watching from the back of the sofa, but when she tried to brush me I didn't like it, and I bit her!!! Ozzy got a treat stick for being so good and having a brush. I wanted a treat even though I hadn’t had a brush, so I started to lick the packet. Mum gave me half a treat, which I smelt and then left. Ozzy had the other half and then scoffed my half as well. He left me a small crumb which I smelt, and then decided I didn't want!
Sunday
I spent ages playing outside in the garden and on the cricket pitch behind the house this afternoon. When I came inside I lay in the sun getting some nice warm rays on my fur. Mum came over and caught me with the nail clippers and she managed to cut my claws. I didn't struggle this time and she cut them all OK, now my dew claw is not growing around and sticking in my leg it’s much more comfortable, I wish I had let her do it ages ago!
Tuesday
It’s been a really nice day today and I have been outside lots. I am getting much more confident and staying out for a long time now. I realise now I missed out on so much last year as I didn't go outside much. After tea I usually go for a sleep but tonight I followed Ozzy outside and spent a while in the garden. It was really enjoyable, I am going to do it again!
Wednesday
It was another nice day again, spring is definitely here now and the weather is so much nicer. Again, I was outside for ages today and I went outside after tea as well. I am all grown up now and not a scared kitten. I feel like a real cat now!
Thursday
Mum was out for ages this morning and Ozzy and I were outside playing in the garden. I was outside for over an hour after tea tonight. I had lots of fun!! When we came in Ozzy and I played around the house for an hour or so.
Saturday
Ozzy and I spent the day outside playing in the garden. We were chasing each other around the pots in the garden, it was lots of fun!
