Fortnight 200
Saturday
We all sat in the front room watching TV today, a nice quiet day.
This evening I spent it eating the Christmas Tree and playing with the decorations. I have knocked one off and I play football with it around the house. Mum hasn’t bothered putting it back on, as I keep knocking it off to play with. I think it’s mine now!
Monday
Dad is off work now for Christmas. We spent the day watching TV and sleeping. It’s really cold in Wigan and far too cold for me to go outside, it makes my paws cold and I hate that!
Tuesday
Amazing, I actually went outside for a few minutes today! I followed Ozzy outside and sat on the wall helping him to watch the birds. It’s quite boring after a few minutes and I came back inside to warm up my paws and do something more interesting.
Wednesday
Christmas Eve
A load of nicely wrapped boxes were put under the Christmas tree today. I had a sniff of them, but none smelt nice to me.
I spent this evening playing with the decoration off the tree and generally running around like a mad kitten! I mean, after all, I AM a kitten!
Thursday
Christmas Day
Mum and dad came down this morning and opened all the boxes under the Christmas tree. Ozzy and I had such fun playing in the used wrapping paper. There were even presents for us. We got Cat Stockings, filled with nice smelling toys. I spent this evening playing with all my new toys. Ozzy and I ran around playing and generally making a mess in the front room!
Friday
Boxing Day
The house smelt lovely today as mum was cooking a big piece of meat. It was making my mouth water as I'm starving. I watched it in the oven for a while to check it didn't run away and then I got bored and went to carry on playing with the decoration. When mum took the meat out of the oven she shut the kitchen door so that Ozzy and I couldn’t get in and have a nibble – what a spoil sport!
Saturday
There were loads of visitors to the house this afternoon and they all went out for a while. I spent the time sleeping on the sofa and Ozzy got stuck outside, so he wasn’t very happy!
Sunday
Well, it’s really cold here – I mean arctic cold. It’s so cold that even Ozzy wouldn’t go outside today. Mum kept us entertained by putting a floating balloon on the scratching post for us to play with. Ozzy didn't like it, but I sat on the post and kept trying to eat the balloon and it’s string. It kept me entertained for ages.
Mum made a meal tonight and she made this green stuff called Broccoli. Apparently some cats like this stuff, so mum put some on a plate for me and Ozzy to try. I wasn’t so bothered by it. I had a taste and a few licks, but then went off to play. Ozzy however absolutely loved it and ate 2 pieces. He is rather odd!
Ozzy and I played on the scratch post for a while tonight. He was on the post and I was on the sofa. He washed me for a while, then I washed him and then we washed each other at the same time.
Monday
It’s still really cold here, but I was really brave today and I went outside for a few minutes in it. I sat on the back wall in the garden and tried to catch a bird – but I failed miserably! After a while Ozzy went back inside but I stayed in the garden to see what would happen to me. I sat on the BBQ watching the fence for the squirrel or an unsuspecting bird. Soon the squirrel came running along the fence, he saw me at the entrance to our garden and we sat there staring at each other for a few minutes. He doesn’t bother about Ozzy being there and runs over his paws, but he doesn’t know me, so he was a bit wary of me. After a few minutes he jumped across the gap in the fence and missed me completely, I was not impressed. After failing to catch a squirrel for tea, I came back inside to warm up.
Something really odd happened today. I got my meals with no tablets before. This is the first day without tablets since the start of October, this is excellent. I hope it continues into the New Year.
Wednesday
New Years Eve
Mum took down all the decorations and lights today. She said that she was taking them down early as she was sick of me eating the tree. She is a spoil-sport!
Mum and dad sat up and watched TV until really late. They didn’t go to bed until after 1am and we were shattered, they don’t normally keep us up so late. I wonder why they didn't go to bed around their normal time? They spent the evening playing with these really loud things called party poppers. Ozzy and I were scared of the noise and spent the time upstairs hiding. When we came down, there was coloured paper all over the floor in the front room – they made such a mess. I was scared of the paper, as I didn't know if it would attack me, so when I walked across the front room I went around the edges to miss all the paper. Even when mum cleared it all up I was too scared to walk across the middle of the floor!
Thursday
Mum had a ribbon tonight which was in a ring with a bow on it. I was sat on the bed watching her and without me realising it, the ribbon went over my ears and around my neck. I went to show dad who was in the office and then I ran downstairs to show Ozzy. I quite liked it, I soon got bored of it and then tried to eat it. Mum saw me eating it and took it off me.
