Fortnight 199
Sunday
I spent a while playing with the new toys, but to be honest I had more fun playing with the bag that they came in. The feather toy is OK, but I don’t like the other one, which is a rattling tube thingy. I spent the rest of the night sleeping in the carrier bag. After a while Ozzy came to see where I was and we had a play in and around the carrier bag.

Monday
It is sooooooooo cold today. When Ozzy came in from his quick visit outside he was freezing and I could feel the cold coming off him. There is no way I'm going outside if it’s that cold!
Wednesday
Dad was out today and mum was on the PC as usual. I went up for my morning cuddle and then spent the rest of the day asleep on the bed, where it was nice and warm.
Thursday
It is still really cold outside, but today I decided to venture outside and be brave. I spent a while on the wall playing with the leaves that were blowing past me.
Friday
What a bizarre day it was today. This morning mum spent a while in the front garden putting up this thing with lights on. I was watching from the sofa, wondering what on earth she was doing, then she turned it on and these blue lights started to flash… what is this thing??? Then she came inside with this immense box that said “Artificial Christmas Tree” on it. She started to build this green thing in the front room where our scratching post usually is (she moved it up a bit to fit this tree thing in). I was watching with interest for the first few minutes, then I realised that there were loads of things which I could chew in the box, so I jumped in the box and started to eat the green things. As the tree got higher, there were fewer bits in the box to chew, so I started to chew the bottom of the tree instead. Soon the tree was finished and they sat down to lunch, which gave me a perfect opportunity to examine this new addition to the front room. I haven't worked out what it is for, but it tastes quite nice. After lunch she put these decoration things on the tree and fluffy silver stuff on the pictures and the TV in the lounge, then these flashing lights went up in the window. She spent all day doing this, and I have absolutely no idea why.
This evening Ozzy and I were highly interested in the tree and spent all night chewing the branches and knocking off the decoration things. I think the box was incorrect, it’s not a Christmas Tree, it’s a new cat activity centre.
Saturday
This morning I knocked one of the silver decoration things off the tree and spent all day knocking it around the floor playing football with it. I only stopped to do a few things, such as, eating, chewing branches on the tree, and scratching. I was fascinated with this decoration thing, and spent my energy playing with it.
Sunday
I think mum is getting fed up with me eating the tree and the decorations all the time. She has started to squirt me with the water pistol when I start to chew. It only deters me for a few minutes though, and then I go back to chewing on the branches. It’s not my fault they taste so nice!
Wednesday
I have spent the last few days playing with the new Cat Activity Centre, which is my new name for the Christmas Tree. It’s a wonderful toy, I hope it’s here to stay. This afternoon mum called me upstairs. She had this white tent thing and it had some of the fluffy silver stuff, which I think she called tinsel. I was sat in there investigating the new thing, when she tried to put this red coat on me. I wasn’t having that and made sure I wriggled so much that she gave up. I thought I had succeeded until I got these pesky red furry antlers on my head instead. I was not impressed. I was lying in this white tent thing playing with the tinsel, trying to ignore this weight on my head and the fact my ears were squashed. She moved them backwards so my ears were OK, and I was a bit happier with that. She took loads of pictures of me and apparently made them into a Siliconhell Christmas Card, which you can view here.

Tonight some friends came round for a short time. The lady put her bag down and both Ozzy and I were drawn to it, it smelt lovely. I think that she has lady cats as Ozzy would not leave her bag alone. I went for cuddles from the lady, but Ozzy just sat there sniffing her bag. Even after they had left, Ozzy still smelt where it had been. I think Ozzy is in love!!!!
Thursday
I have got over my antler embarrassment now. A massive box came today that mum took into the office this evening. I sat on the desk to watch what she was doing, but this immense black thing came out of the box and went where the paper mover thing used to be (I think they call it a printer, but to me it’s a noisy paper moving thing). It’s much bigger and noisier than the old one, but it’s a different shape and I can't climb on it anymore, I wonder if that’s why they got a new one? Ozzy came for a look and just sat there smelling it, what is it with him over smelling stuff? He’s driving me crazy!
This evening dad had an apple and mum stuck the stickers from it on my back, they were just where I couldn’t reach them, and they were on either side. I was not impressed. I don’t want to be liveried up like a racing car. She soon felt sorry for me and took them off, thankfully!

Friday
It was not too cold today and I went out for a play in the garden this morning. I joined Ozzy in the tree waiting for birds to land near us. I think they are cleverer than us though, as they never land near enough for us to reach them. After a short while I got really bored and cold as well, so I ran inside to mum for a cuddle to warm me up. Ozzy sat there in the tree for ages, he has such patience. But I think he has thicker fur than me, so he doesn’t get so cold.

Mum washed out our litter trays this afternoon and I went for another quick play in the garden, but it is too cold for me and I came inside crying for love and cuddles to warm me up. I much prefer the warm weather – where has that gone?
