Fortnight 198
Monday
I did it!!!
For the first time I managed to get into the windowsill and get past both the curtain and the lining. I was so happy with myself. I lay there all night in the warmth from the radiator, it’s much better than lying inbetween the lining and curtain!
Tuesday
I spent today asleep on the bed. Mum joined me this afternoon and we had a lovely cuddle. I snuggled up to her under the fleece so I was nice and warm. It was excellent!
I spent tonight playing with the laser pen. I haven't seen it before and I had such fun chasing the dot around the floor. When I got tired, I curled up next to mum and went to sleep!
Wednesday
Since my success on Monday I have not been able to replicate it, and have been spending my nights sleeping inbetween the curtain and the lining, I just can't manage to get through both layers. I think I was really lucky on Monday to manage it.
I have developed a new liking lately. Quite often when mum has a cup of tea, I put my nose and whiskers in it and have a lick. Well in an evening she drinks pints of this purple stuff that smells really nice. I decided tonight that after smelling it for months I had to know what it tasted like. When she wasn’t looking I dipped in my front paw and then licked it, and you know what, it was really nice. So I repeated the procedure and had a nice drink of the blackcurrant cordial. I much prefer it to water! She soon saw me though, but she was too busy laughing to stop me. I did give myself away though by leaving a floating piece of cat litter in the top of the glass!
Thursday
Once again I spent the day asleep near to the warmest radiator I could find in the house. It was dry and cold today and even Ozzy didn't want to go outside in the cold weather.
This afternoon I was picked up and taken to the vets as my tablets run out today and I am still quite snotty. When we got to the vets my tablets were already waiting for me at the reception desk, so I hadn’t gone for a check-up. It turned out that mum had took me down as the nurses had asked her to take me for a cuddle. Everyone cuddled me lots, all the receptionists, the nurses, the vet and even the cleaner gave me big cuddles. It was lovely it was like being at my old house again. I had a run around the waiting room and the pet shop and a good sniff at everything and then came home. It was a lovely trip out.
Friday
It has been raining a lot today and of course I haven't been outside, well I haven't been out all week, so I won't go out in the rain today. Mum went to bed this afternoon and I once again cuddled up next to her under the fleece getting warmth from mum and the fleece and the odd cuddle. Ozzy soon joined us and we all had a nice warm snooze!
This evening I had a long drink from mums cordial. I gave up putting the paw in and licking as it is too slow, so I just stuck my head in the glass and drank. I want this stuff in our water bowl instead of plain water.
Later on tonight I was playing in the lounge on my own as Ozzy was sleeping upstairs. I was running in circles on the sofa chasing my tail for ages. Mum and dad were laughing so much that they had tears running down their face and I had a really good play session.
Saturday
We had visitors today and I spent the afternoon running around the house playing with shadows.
Tonight I decided to chase my tail on the stairs, but my circle was too large and I fell off the stair I was playing on.
Sunday
It’s really cold and windy today and even Ozzy doesn’t want to go outside. Normally, when we get up in the morning he goes straight outside, but he stayed in all day in the warmth. I don’t blame him, it’s awful out there. Dad went for sleep this afternoon and I cuddled up to him and snoozed the afternoon away. Ozzy only went out for an hour after tea today, which is most unlike him. He is normally out for a large part of the day.
Tonight mum made me another floating balloon with feathers on the end, I spent all evening playing with it.
Tuesday
Mum went out for a bit this morning and I took the opportunity for a sleep on the bed. This afternoon I spent playing with the balloon, it no longer floats but I drag it around the house and play with the string stuff. I love chewing the string stuff, it’s one of my favourite pastimes.
Wednesday
Dad was out all day today and I sat on the desk where mum was this morning for my usual cuddle and then went downstairs to play with Ozzy and my balloon.
Friday
Mum washed out our litter trays as usual today and then went out, leaving our trays empty. I was absolutely desperate for the loo, and I had to go in the litter tray, even though it was empty. It turned out that mum had gone to the local retail park to buy some more litter for the trays as she had run out. When she came back, she was not happy to realise that she would have to wash out my tray again! I felt really guilty but I couldn’t wait any longer. When she was at the pet shop she bought us some new toys, I saw that she bought me a long feather thing to play with, but I was too tired tonight to play and spent it sleeping. I actually got through both the curtain and the lining again tonight, so I spent the night sleeping on the windowsill.. the toys will still be there tomorrow when I am feeling more playful.
It has been so cold today that neither me or Ozzy wanted to go outside, we just stayed in in the warmth of the house.
