Fortnight 194
Sunday
Ozzy had another run in with the squirrel today. The squirrel was on the bird table in the garden when Ozzy saw him. Ozzy spent a few minutes under the table watching the squirrel, and then decided it was worth a jump. He jumped up and got his front paws on the ledge of the bird table. The squirrel spun round and bopped Ozzy on the nose with his front paws, which made Ozzy drop off the bird table looking confused and wondering what just happened to him. Whilst he was sat on the grass wondering what got him on the nose the squirrel jumped off the table onto the wall and ran off and up a tree at the back of next door but ones garden. He was up the tree and Ozzy was still sat on the grass licking his nose!! Funny!
Monday
I spent the day sleeping on the chair in the lounge whilst mum painted the new bathroom door and did other DIY jobs in the house. Late this afternoon I was picked up and put in a cat carrier and took back to the vets. They shaved my neck and took some blood tests from me and then I was allowed to go home. The vet rang mum with the results later that evening and she mentioned something about liver function on the phone.
Tuesday
First thing this morning I was put in the cat carrier again and taken to the vets, where they put me under anaesthetic and did an ultrasound scan and X-ray of my liver as the blood tests showed it is not working properly. The scans showed that the liver is very enlarged, but there are no blockages or growths in there, which is a good thing.
I came home and I was really wobbly on my feet. I was unable to walk in a straight line which is quite disconcerting. I couldn’t even jump up onto my chair, mum had to lift me up and then when she stroked me as I was sat there I fell over! Not my best day, that’s for sure!
I had been home about 10 minutes when I was really sick all over the back room. There was loads of it and I wasn’t very happy with myself. I spent the rest of the night sleeping on my chair and wishing I felt better.
Wednesday
I feel much better today, which is wonderful. I am not wobbly and I have not been sick since last night. I went outside to go to the toilet this morning and then spent the rest of the day asleep on my chair. I watched Tigger in the back garden , there were 2 worms on the patio and he ate them.. he must have been really hungry!
Thursday
It rained really heavily today and we all spent the day sleeping inside, not the day to go out. We didn't even go out to go to the toilet it was that bad. It was really windy and the windows were bowing and making odd noises because the wind was so strong. The three of us slept on the bed where we thought we would be safe.
Friday
Dad came home today and gave us all lots of cuddles. I had to move on to the other chair as he wanted to sit in his chair, which was most rude of him!
Sunday
I was really sick again tonight, I still don’t feel very well and I am on lots of tablets twice a day which I hate taking. I am on anti-biotics and steroid tablets to try and reduce the swelling of my liver
Tuesday
I went back to the vets this afternoon for a check-up. They gave mum some more anti-biotics and steroid tablets and I have to go back next week for more blood tests. They say I have a serious liver problem and all they can do is manage the condition and a decision for further treatment will be taken next week.
Wednesday
It rained again today and we all spent the day inside. Tigger was playing with a balloon in the lounge and he popped it. He looked really surprised by it, and then carried the large bit of popped balloon around the lounge for ages.. he is an odd cat!
Thursday
It was a lovely day today and I spent the morning in the garden relaxing in the autumn sun. This evening it started to rain whilst I was outside. I came in and mum dried me off with an old tea towel whilst I was sat on the scratch post. There was a piece of cotton hanging off the towel and I was playing with it. I haven't played for ages, it didn't take much energy but I did enjoy a few minutes of play. Then I got a lovely cuddle off mum which made it all even better.
