Fortnight 189
Saturday
This morning Ozzy gave mum a real surprise. She was in the kitchen and we were all in the garden enjoying the lovely warm weather. Tigger and Ozzy came running in the house and as mum turned around Ozzy placed a rather large, dead and partially plucked Magpie on the dining room floor. Mum got a real surprise as we have only brought back small birds such as sparrows before, never something as large as a Magpie. She picked it up and threw it in the dustbin, much to Ozzy’s disgust!
This evening mum and dad had a BBQ in the garden. Ozzy and Tigger have never seen a BBQ before and did insist on checking out the flames at the start, until they realised they were quite hot and best to stay away from. We all played in the garden whilst mum and dad were sat there.
Sunday
Another really warm day – far too warm for a little cat with a black coat. I stayed inside today in the cool.
Monday
Gosh – it really must be summer as it is so hot. A new lady came to the house today and she gave us all cuddles and let us out into the garden nice and early to get the most of the warm weather. By lunchtime it was far too hot and we all retired inside in the coolness of the house.
This afternoon mum caught me and put some awful smelling stuff on the back of my neck. I think it’s flea stuff as both Tigger and Ozzy were done last week, but she ran out of stuff and couldn’t do me. I thought I had got away with it, but I guess I am not so lucky!
Wednesday
The weather broke today and it is now raining. There was a loud thunderstorm overnight and really heavy rain which I got caught in as I was outside last night. I came in this morning looking like a drowned cat, I needed a good sleep in a nice warm bed, which is exactly what I got for the rest of the day!
Thursday
Tigger caught his first mouse today. Mum found him in the front garden eating a baby mouse that he had caught… he is growing up fast, if he is already hunting.
Friday
Mum spent a while this morning moving stuff off one of the sofa’s and then clearing an area around it, I wonder what is going on…. This afternoon some men with a big van came to the house and removed dad’s sofa. I love sleeping on there, where am I going to sleep in the evenings now? A chair from upstairs was brought down for dad to sit on and there is now an empty space next to it, very odd.
This afternoon mum took Tigger to the vets as he sneezed this morning and there was blood in it. He is on anti-biotics once again. He hasn’t had one day since he has been here with no tablets or medication.
Sunday
A day of motor racing, it was raining heavily and we all stayed inside in the dry and warm.
Tuesday
It was an odd day today and we were all unnerved. First thing this morning a skip was delivered and left on the drive. Mum spent the day emptying the garage and tidying it up, and then she went into the house and emptied all the cupboards in all the bedrooms and threw loads of stuff into the skip. Some stuff was kept, but put in the garage. This is all very odd and us cats don’t like things changing. In the middle of the afternoon a new chair was delivered and put next to dads’ new chair. This new chair is a leather one with a footstool and it looks very comfy. I went to jump onto it and mum shouted at me. I don’t think we will be allowed on this new chair. This evening mum got into the new chair and pressed a button on it’s remote control and it started to make a noise and vibrate. We were all wondering where the noise was coming from, and thought it was really odd, we all kept our distance for the rest of the night!
Wednesday
The dog lady came today and mum and her went out for the day.
This evening I scared Tigger, it was really funny. When I am outside and I want to come in, I stand on the bin and run on the window to make mum know I am there and I want to come in. I haven't done it for ages, and tonight was the first time I have done it since Tigger arrived at our house. As soon as he heard the noise he ran across the front room whilst crouching and ran up the stairs, still crouching and sat at the top looking really frightened. He sat there for over an hour and he would not come downstairs, he is such a coward!
Thursday
Mum was back on the job of emptying cupboards downstairs and putting stuff in the skip. We kept out of the way as we don’t want to be thrown on the skip by accident! Whilst mum was busy in the kitchen Tigger caught himself a baby bird and brought it into the lounge and started to eat it. Mum found him soon after and took the bird off him, but by then he had eaten over half of it! He is becoming an avid hunter! Ozzy was looking on jealously as he obviously wanted to eat the rest of it!
Friday
The skip was removed today so all the cupboards must be empty now and the house has loads of room for new stuff… I'm glad the skip has gone as it means I get to sleep in peace during the day without the hoover going on all the time.
