Fortnight 177
Saturday
Tonight mum gave me a brush, but something really odd happened. When I get a brush, mum removes my collar to make it easier and then after my brush my collar is put back on. However, tonight my collar did not get put back on. Ozzy keeps taking his collar off and then bringing it back to mum and she has decided not to put one on him. As Ozzy does not wear a collar, mum has decided that is unfair that I still do, so mine was not put back on. It’s wonderful to not have to wear one after so long, nothing restrictive around my neck. How cool! And when I get a stroke there is no break in the cuddle for when the hand goes over the collar.
Sunday
I'm still getting used to life without my collar, it’s a bit odd after wearing one for 6 ? years.
Tuesday
Something really odd is happening today, mum started to build this new glass table in the front room and the room is filled with boxes and pieces of table. Shortly after a massive box with a slightly smaller one was delivered, so now the front room is like an obstacle course! By this afternoon all the boxes had gone and there was a new TV on a table in the front room. I thought it looked alright until I went into my room and realised that the old TV and stand were in there. It is so crowded in there now, there is no room to even swing a cat!! I wonder how long it is going to be in there. Also today a builder arrived this morning and was doing some noisy work in the main bedroom, Ozzy and I didn't know where to go to get some peace as the front room was messy and noisy and so was the bedroom. We both hid in my hiding place inside the bed in the spare bedroom.
Wednesday
The old TV is still in my room and I have to stand in a really odd way to get to my food and water, I hope it isn't going to be in here for long.
Thursday
The weather is so cold here lately. There is no wind or rain but the temperature is freezing, there is white frosty stuff on the ground all day and it freezes your paws when you walk over it. I hope it gets warmer soon. It’s too cold to go outside so we both stay in the house all day and sleep in various places.
Mum was in an odd mood today as she wanted dad to buy a new addition to the livestock in our house and he didn't want to. She had seen this leopard gecko in the local shop and wanted to get one, but dad thought that we will attack it, so he won't get one. I don’t think that mum is too happy with his decision as she has been talking about it all day.
Friday
No more mention of purchasing a gecko, so I reckon that mum has come to terms with dads’ decision. Pity, as I quite fancied a tasty morsel as a snack. I have never eaten a gecko, but I can imagine they must be quite nice!
Saturday
Mum and dad went out a lunchtime and were out for a while, when they came back they were sat waiting for something but I'm not sure what. I soon got my answer, one of mum’s old friends came over and took the old TV out of my room. It’s wonderful to have all my space back again.
Sunday
I spent the day in my room enjoying all the space and the nice warm radiator bed! Mum wasn’t too well and went to bed in the afternoon. Both Ozzy and I joined her as we love sleeping on the bed when we can cuddle up to someone that is nice and warm!
Monday
Mum still wasn’t feeling so well and again we joined her in bed in the afternoon. A nice nap was had by all!
Tonight mum and dad were watching the new David Attenborough program “Life in Cold Blood” it was all about lizards and I sat in front of the new TV completely captivated by the pictures on the screen. Now I really want to try a gecko for a snack as they look excellent!
A bit later in the evening Ozzy was outside and I was sat in the lounge. Dad got out the laser pen and I spent a while running around the room like a mad kitten playing. It was excellent, it’s ages since I had a good play and I really enjoyed it.
Wednesday
The weather is still really cold and we are both being really boring and staying in the house sleeping. We only really go outside to go to the toilet. I think Ozzy is upsetting the neighbours as they don’t really like cats and he keeps going to the toilet in their garden. I heard them talking to mum about it the other day and they hissed at me when I was on their drive this morning. Wooops!
Friday
A strange man came this morning and then drove off in mums car. Very odd, I wonder what is happening. It came back later this afternoon though, so nothing major must have happened. It’s still cold here so the normal routine of finding a warm spot and sleeping all day is still being used!
