Fortnight 173
Sunday
Today a number of guests arrived at our house at lunch time and mum and dad went out with them for the afternoon. It was a really cold day and Ozzy and I spent the time asleep inside in the nice warm house.
Ozzy is still ignoring his own food bowl and eating from mine, however when I eat from his, he starts to meow at me and gets all upset.. it’s not fair!
Tuesday
Today, mum decided that as the radiator beds are next to each other on the same radiator we will not use them at the same time, she moved one into my room. Now we each have our own bed with our own space. Tonight Ozzy spent the evening in the one in the lounge and I spent it in the one in my room. It was nice to have my bed back again, as lately every time I have wanted to get in it, Ozzy has been there first.
Thursday
Mum hasn’t been very well this week and has been going to bed in the afternoon. Of course, Ozzy and I have joined her there and then argued over who gets to sleep nearest to her and the fleecy blanket. Sometimes I win, sometimes Ozzy wins. Today I won, and I wriggled under the blanket and went to sleep in the warmth and comfort.
Saturday
Ozzy and I had a big flight tonight as we were both in that sort of mood. We still growl at each other when passing in the room and he is still getting on my nerves in a big way. We were in the middle of a good fight when mum shouted at us and we both jumped up and looked at her like we were in big trouble!
Monday
Christmas Eve
This morning dad’s mum came to visit and she brought a table that was put in my room. I wish they would stop putting things in my room as it so full now. There isn't room to swing a cat in there!!! After she had left mum emptied everything else out of the room apart from my bed, food and litter tray. There is a bit more room in there now, but I hope that this isn't in there too long.
This afternoon the house smelt lovely, it was filled with the smell of cooking meat. We were both really hungry and spent the day in the kitchen watching the cooker to see if any was given to us, it wasn’t!
Tuesday
Christmas Day
This morning mum and dad opened lots of presents and the room was filled with wrapping paper. Ozzy went mad and started to freak out in the paper. I have been there and done that before, so I sat on the windowsill watching him act like a mad kitten!
Shortly after mum went out and came back a while later with one of dads relatives. They all sat in my room at the table and ate a big dinner, they didn't want hassling from either of us so we sat in the garden watching them eat through the French windows. It isn't fair!
This evening we were both hassled by dad’s Christmas present. Mum had bought him 2 mini remote controlled helicopters that fly inside and shoot each other down. Both Ozzy and I were curious about this things flying around the room and ran around trying to catch them. Ozzy nearly did and got his whiskers buzzed, which didn't look too nice. We decided that they were better left alone and sat on the stairs until they got bored with their new toys and watched TV. When they buy these things, they don’t consider us and how we will react….
Wednesday
Today Nick came and the helicopters came out again.. once again Ozzy and I sat on the stairs in a relatively safe place until they got bored and put on the playstation. These new toys are dangerous to our ears and whiskers!
Thursday
Ozzy spent most of today playing with the tinsel in the front room. He is obsessed with the tinsel around the snake tank and is always trying to pull it off. Today he pulled it down and was running around the front room with the tinsel dragging behind him like a long silver starry snake! He looked really daft!
Friday
Thankfully the helicopters haven't made an appearance in the last day or so, so we are safe for a while. All the presents have gone from the house and it is back to normal apart from the decorations.
Tonight Sid The Snake was out in his tank and we could all see him. Ozzy and I were captivated and spent ages watching him crawl around. We were both near each other and so busy watching Sid that we didn't argue or fight with each other, a miracle!
