Fortnight 172
Monday
This morning two large boxes were delivered for mum. Both Ozzy and I had a sniff of them as they smelt of cat stuff. There were a number of bags of cat litter in there, some cat food for both me and Ozzy, and a new radiator bed as every time I want to get in it, Ozzy is already in there asleep. So now we have our own ones! Ozzy wasted no time in getting in the new one and falling asleep.
Tuesday
I was walking across the living room tonight and from nowhere, Ozzy jumped on my back and held on. I was not impressed and managed to whack him one with my paw. He soon got off and ran into the dining room. We had a short fight and then all was well.
Wednesday
This morning both Ozzy and I were really hungry. Mum put our breakfast out and as usual Ozzy completely ignored his own bowl and watched me eat mine. After a few mouthfuls I noticed that he also had his head in my bowl and was munching away. Normally at this point, I walk off grumbling loudly and leave him to eat my food, but today I was so hungry that I ignored it and we both shared the same food. I don’t know why he doesn’t eat from his own bowl. Every mealtime is the same, he gets fed first in the kitchen but he won't go in, instead he sits by my bowl and waits for me to be fed and then tries to eat mine at the same time.
I spent all day asleep under the duvet on the spare bed. Ozzy doesn’t know about this hiding place, so I have a nice quiet undisturbed sleep. I think he was asleep on the new radiator bed.
Thursday
I have found a new hiding place, the spare bed has drawers underneath, and I can open one with my paw. I have opened it, and then go inside to the back and fall asleep. No-one knows about this spot, so I am not disturbed, it’s wonderful!
Once again Ozzy decided to eat out of my bowl. Since we came back from the cattery he has completely ignored his own bowl and just eats out of mine.
Tonight I was sat by the speaker in the lounge and Ozzy jumped on me and pushed me over into the speaker, I was not impressed and we had a fight about it!
Friday
Another large box was delivered today and when mum emptied it, it was left in the lounge. I decided to sleep in it tonight and Ozzy came over and started to nibble my left ear and then lick me. I lay there and did not growl or open my eyes. When he had finished, I licked his ears for a minute or two. It was the closest we have been without fighting since he arrived at our house.
Saturday
Once again Ozzy and I had an ear licking and nibbling session. It was quite nice and it is good bonding for us both. I then fell back to sleep in the box and Ozzy went to sleep in the radiator bed.
Monday
Another box came today and it smelt of cat food. When mum opened it, it was full of Hills Sachets for our teas. They are lovely, I'm really happy that mum bought some more. We had a few taster sachets last week and we both really enjoyed them.
This morning mum got a large box out of the garage and started to put up the Christmas decorations. Because Ozzy is so mad, they have decided not to put up the Christmas tree this year, and just put up the other decorations. Ozzy was fascinated, as he has never seen these before. I wasn’t too bothered as I have seen these a few times now. When mum had finished she stepped back to admire her work and as she did so Ozzy went around the room pulling the tinsel off the pictures and the snake tank. Mum was amused but not impressed!
Tuesday
Mum was out all day today and dad was working from home. I spent the day asleep inside the spare bed and Ozzy spent it asleep on the radiator bed. When mum came home we both had lots of cuddles. It was really nice.
Wednesday
Mum was out again today and we both repeated yesterday. It is really cold outside with frost on the ground until lunchtime, far too cold to go outside for any length of time.
Thursday
Well, it really must be Christmas now. This afternoon mum wrapped loads of presents. Both Ozzy and I tried to help but it got mum all ratty. I don’t think she likes us helping, and certainly doesn’t like us shredding the wrapping paper. We were both sent outside to the garden until she had finished the wrapping!
Friday
Some members of dads’ family came today and mum gave them the presents that Ozzy and I helped her to wrap yesterday. It was another cold day today and we both spent the day asleep in the house. Tonight we both slept in our favourite places in the lounge. I had quite a nice day today. It was only spoilt by Ozzy ignoring his own dish and eating out of mine. Mum has decided that we both get the same food now, but it doesn’t stop Ozzy ignoring his own bowl completely.
