Fortnight 164
Saturday
I was asleep on the cushion on the sofa tonight and Ozzy jumped up and was smelling my nose and ears. I just lay there and let him smell me, that is until he decided to bite my ear, and then I got a bit angry and growled at him. He ran away so fast!
Sunday
I spent most of today upstairs on the bed away from Ozzy.
Tonight I came downstairs as dad was playing with Ozzy and the laser pen. I sat on the top of the stairs watching. I was dying to join in, but I don’t want to look like a kitten in front of Ozzy. I have to keep up the “old cat” routine to get my respect.
Tuesday
I spent a while in the garden today as the weather was nice and warm. Ozzy was sat inside trying to get out, but he can’t come out yet as he hasn’t had all his jabs. A new cat carrier arrived today. Mum built it in the lounge and Ozzy jumped straight in and lay down. I had a laugh to myself as I know it’s a cat carrier. I was waiting for them to close the door and cart him off, but they didn’t, they took it into the dining room and stored it with the other one. I did enjoy jumping in and out of the box as it is too big for Ozzy to get in, so I got a bit of peace.
Thursday
I spent all day asleep on the bed today. I woke up mid-afternoon to find Ozzy asleep on the bed with me. I was not very happy about this, so after a bit of grumbling I came downstairs and fell asleep in the dining room in the sun.
Tonight mum got Sid (the snake) out in the front room. Both Ozzy and I were sat by the bag where he was crawling around on watching intently. I still don’t like Sid and Ozzy doesn’t really know what he is, so we were both a bit uneasy. After a while she took Sid into the other room without us and we wandered off.
Ozzy is becoming a real pain, every time I walk past him he jumps on me and either attacks my paws, or bites my tail or just runs after me. Sometimes I can put up with it, but at night when he has been doing it all day it gets really annoying and I turn round and hiss at him. He soon backs away then!
Saturday
Nick came today and was making Ozzy do tricks and chase toys. This evening Ozzy was running around the room on a mad half hour. He was going so fast that even though I was sat in one place watching him, I couldn’t keep up with him. I just couldn’t keep my eyes on him as he was so fast. Was I like that? Where does he get his energy from? He also tries to eat my food all the time so his food is in the kitchen all the time, but I have to ask for mine as it is kept out of reach so Ozzy can’t eat it. Having to ask for my food is a real pain as mum doesn’t always understand, this evening I decided not to meow for my food and I went straight into the kitchen and ate Ozzy’s instead! It was lovely, I think I will do it more often!
Monday
Dad was off work on annual leave today and we all spent the day in the lounge watching TV. Mum has plugged the Feliway Diffuser in, it is a feline pheromone that is supposed to calm down cats. It seems to be working as me and Ozzy have had less arguments today. We spent a while rubbing noses and smelling each other, getting used to each others smells and their presence. It’s a start, but I guess he isn’t going away so I had better get used to him being here.
Wednesday
I was sunbathing in the garden this afternoon and I got a real shock. I saw Ozzy sunbathing on the patio. I was really surprised as I know he isn’t allowed out. The kitchen window was open and while mum and dad were upstairs he had jumped out of the window and was sunbathing on the patio. They soon noticed he has escaped though, and they came out looking for him and took him back inside. Ha Ha, I get to stay out and enjoy the sun!
Thursday
I had a nice day today, I got loads of cuddles from mum and I am starting to calm down more around Ozzy, I just wish he wouldn’t keep attacking my paws as I walk past him.
I am feeling so much happier that I even brought a present back for mum. She saw me in the garden this evening and came out to see what I was doing and I dropped a baby mouse at her feet. She picked it up in one hand and with the other hand picked me up and dropped me inside the house. I watched as she went to the back of the garden and let it out in the field at the back. It took me ages to catch that as a present of love, how disrespectful.
Friday
I brought mum a present that she couldn’t set free today. I brought her a dead mouse instead. I’m sure that she appreciated it more. I spent tonight asleep on the sofa next to dad. I watched Ozzy run around the room like a complete nutter for a while and then I felt so tired that I had to fall asleep!
