Fortnight 159
Saturday
The dog lady came today and her and mum disappeared for a few hours this afternoon. When they came back, everyone went upstairs and came down looking really posh and then went out for the night. I got to stay in my room where it was lovely and cool.
Sunday
The dog lady left this morning and we all spent a quiet day watching the motor racing on the TV.
Monday
This evening I was sat at the end of the drive, protecting my territory when the white cat with no tail from up the street came by. He sat in the middle of the road a 100 yards or so away starring me out. I wasn’t going to budge though, and I won the battle, then his brother came along and took up the challenge. I wasn’t having any of it, and saw him away too. My territory is MY territory and they are not welcome!
Wednesday
The weather has been so hot here this week, it is far too hot for little black pussy cats like me. I have been struggling to find cool places to hide in during the day. Mum even brought the upright fan into the lounge, but it is still not cool in there.
Thursday
A really quiet day today. I spent most of the day asleep under the chair on the patio. This evening a plumber came and spent some time in the loft making lots of noise. I have no idea what he was doing, but I kept well out of his way!
Friday
Mum and dad went out really early this morning and didn't come back until early afternoon. They were all dressed smart and wouldn’t give me cuddles when they were in their smart clothes. We all spent this afternoon in the lounge, in front of the fan trying to keep cool. Mum was playing Tennis on the playstation and dad was laughing at her…
Sunday
We all had a quiet weekend inside trying to keep cool. It’s been so hot here, not like the UK at all. They spent the evening watching the F1 from Canada and cheered really loudly when it was over… someone they liked must have won!!!
This evening was a bit odd. There are still balloons floating around the house from dads’ birthday and they burst them and sucked out the gas from inside. They both started talking in really funny voices and I found it a bit odd. They seemed happy though, so nothing bad was happening!
Monday
Mum spent most of this afternoon in the garden and I, of course, was out there helping her.
Tuesday
Mum didn't feel too well today and spent all afternoon in bed. I of course, hate missing an opportunity to snuggle up on the bed and joined her for a long comfy snooze. Even when she got up, I stayed on the bed getting more sleep (you can never get enough!).
Wednesday
A new bird table came today and mum spent a short time putting it together and then out in the garden. It is supposed to stop pigeons landing on it, but it had only been up and hour and there were pigeons there. I don’t think she was too happy about that one!
Mum still wasn’t well today, so of course I joined her for another snooze on the bed. I do like it when she doesn’t feel well! The weather has finally broken and it’s a bit cooler today. Much better for black furry cats, than boiling hot sun.
Friday
A quiet few days where I spent most of the time asleep in my radiator bed. This hot weather is sooooo draining!
