Default Fitness club/Gym carparks!!

A thought came to me as I passed the new gym being built on the way to work , why do they need such big carparks .

My thinking on this is if the gym user leaves the car at home & has a gentle walk , run or cycle to the gym would'nt this constitute the warm up required before more rigorous exercise began .

Then when there session at the gym was finished they could go home the same way they came as the warm down so to speak .

Plus there carbon footprint would be smaller as they are not using the car .

So WHY do they need suck big carparks .

I agree... they could use all the space taken up by car parks and put in Pubs... I mean, you're bound to be thirsty after all that exercise and what could be more refreshing than an Ice Cold Lager

To err is human. To ARRR is pirate.

Maybe they need such large carparks as the land is cheaper outside of town and often away from main residential areas. They know people have to travel and therefore to attract more people build large carparks..

and, also for disabled people like me that have to use a gym and are unable to walk or cycle back home.

Hmmm i'll agree the point on the parking for the disabled users amongst us .

And I suppose land is a tad cheaper the further you get away from centre of population .

As for people having to travel maybe so, but I still think a lot of these people could get there by other means other than parking there large 4x4 vehicles in the carpark .

ON another point why do people go to the gym its expensive & your there sweating away on the running machine or in the arobic's class sniffing up every one elses sweaty body odours ewwww i'd rather go for a nice long walk .

Last time I visited a gym I got injured using one of the new machines

I got my arm trapped trying to get a mars bar out of the vending machine

Yes Im kidding!

On the subject of gyms and machines: Why do people use running machines and stair climbers Why not just go for a run or walk up and down some stairs?

I dont go to the gym as i'm not a fan of them I think I get enough exercise during my working day to keep me healthy .
