Is it wrong to lie?

My parents used to tell me to always be truthfull, but, is telling lies so bad?

Is there any difference between a lie, a fib, a porky or what ever you wish to call it?

Could you handle being told the truth all of the time?

What do you think?

I can understand why people tell big lies. sometimes the truth can really hurt someone. I'd like to say I'd always like to hear the truth, but I'm not sure I would really. Probably depends what it is!

Seriously though, telling the truth is so much easier in the long run. The consequences of lying can go on for years.

That doesn't mean you have to insult people, i.e. if you don't like what they're wearing, just be caring in your choice of words.

So how then would you handle the following questions truthfully:

a) Boss asking "Do I look stupid?"

b) Boyfriend / Girlfriend "Do these jeans make my bum look big?"

Answer to both questions: YES!!

Otherwise answer a question with another question, e.g. "Do you feel ... (stupid) (fat)?" etc. Ha ha
