I agree B&W can look really stunning, it shows light and shadows really well. The sun breaking through the trees is a good example.

I'd like a Digital SLR but I'll wait until the price comes down. I reckon that it cant be long before the manufacturing cost of CCDs drops.

well personally speaking i think u get a good Digital SLR nowadays without spending a fortune ... well if u think the price will come down, it will but only when the ccds are u know not as new ... then something else will take its place and then u ll want to have that and then wait for the price of it to come down ... seriously sayin u get good cameras with loads of functions that are excellent starters in Digital photography ... like the Nikon D 40 ... good camera ... same sensor as Nikon D 70 ... but what it lacks are the added innovations that are there in D 70 .. . but overall a good one and that doesnt cost that much ... same thing with Canon 350 D or in the US i thnk its the Digital Rebel ...

i say u go for it man ... life will pass u by if u just keep waiting ... the cost of anything is what it means to u ...

me too going for a new Digital SLR ... Canon 20 D ...

It's really sad, but I wanted to be secretary when I left school - and that's exactly what I am - I think it's safe to say I'm not the most ambitious person in the world :-? I did try progressing to a more managerial post, but once I got there I found that not only did I not really like the responsibility, it turned me into a person I didn't like much!

I'd love to do something creative in the future, but I have a feeling that the fact I can't draw/paint/play a musical instrument etc might just prove to be a major drawback

In my opinion ambition is the drive to want to do something. It doesnt have to be something that others think is amazing, all that matters is what you think.

Be true to yourself ;-)
