not at all you have to do what makes you happy or you wont be able to help others.

i want to do something like that (eventually) cause my mom used to do it before she moved to SA-got married-had kids-etc, the stories she told my sister and i were amazing.

Spend more time with my family and visiting relatives that don't see us much. Also spend lots of time doing all the DIY jobs I've been putting off until my PhD is done.

Well, I don`t know how much are exactly L40.000, but I see in your replies that it`s a lot of money. So I`d do the following:

1st: A small motorcycle.
2nd Travel to Indonesia to see orangutans in the wild and join a volunteer program.
3rd with the rest of the money, I should purchase as many cars as possible (If I can, I don`t know what a person can do with L40.000) and put them to work as taxis, so I can get money just for putting them to work and I can keep having somewhat free years.
If there`s still some money, I`d buy the best available computer.
