I'll start by saying that I love music and spend a lot of time listening to it.
I like a wide variety of music, my favourites are probably Classic Heavy Metal and Punk. However I also like Blues, Goth, Indy, Classical and so on. There are some tracks that really move me and make me think, hence the term a Thought Provoker. Here are some of them
Does anybody have a similar list? I also intrigued to know if others think the songs are about thee same things I think that they are about. Cheers Mike ...

I think that everybody who likes music has such a list...
A few of the songs that make me think are: The Sisters Of Mercy - Mother Russia (I think this is about USA and Russia and the cold war, but I may be well off the mark here!) Mike & The Mechanics - Living Years.... such a deep song Ozzy Osbourne - Dreamer (his Imagine type song) Queensryche - Best I Can (about someone in a wheelchair wanting to be successful and live a "normal" life and be respected for it) Big Audio Dynamite - E=MC2 Bruce Springsteen - Streets of Philadelphia These are some of the songs that make me think about the words.. The first 4 get me every time but the others change depending on my mood! Music Lives forever!!!

I Like songs that are dark but fade to some thing much lighter and can up lift you a good example would be Consideration by Reef it sound quite down by the end their sing Every thing is gonna be ok. it just a nice lift at the end.
also the theme from cheers which has been done recently by The Wildhearts it just makes me feel so goooooooooood its cool. then there is the much darker stuff like on the Manics street Preachers Album, The Holy Bible very dark but very good just never out it on when i m too down.. do you also find films like this cos when i need insperation i used to watch forest gump it just lifts me, but sometimes i think with all the watching of the film i could have done something constuctive instead, not good |

Mike - Imagine by John Lennon is definately on my list - not very Punk or Heavy Metal though is it?? haha
My list would also include: Don't want to miss a thing ( also the film it was from Armageddon - wicked film and probably the only film that makes me come close to crying!) Unbreak my heart - listen to the lyrics & you'll understand! Everybody hurts - REM There's quite a few really. I like all sorts of music & use music for different moods...ie if i'm going out for a night out then Trance or fast music to get me in the mood etc |
