Never go near or use a computer again?

I came across this question and thought it was a realy good thread...made me think

If you are considered a dangerous hacker by the government, your parole will most certainly include restrictions barring you from going anywhere near a computer, let alone owning one.

That would be quite unfortunate if you ask me, but hey they should have thought about that before becoming such a threat.

That being said, it's safe to assume most of us here are at least average computer users. Could any of us live the rest of our lives not going anywhere near a computer?

How much money would it take to get you to not touch a computer or use the internet in any way for the rest of your life?

Console based videogames do not count as computers.. yet, however internet based play would be completely out of the question.

For me I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to take any amount. Even if I got a ton of money I'd want to buy computer equipment with it. I wouldn't be able to do it.

This is actually quite difficult to answer....

Sometimes I detest Computers.. Working in IT can do that to you.. on the other hand, I am quite addicted to the internet

Not sure I could actually give it up for any amount of money, although I'd probably be a happier person in the long run if I did

Ive had a think about this over lunch and I dont think I could do it. I'd feel disconnected and isolated. I'd find it easier to give up beer than the internet

I'm not quite sure about that...
If I had to make a choice between The Internet or Beer

Well, I agree with everyone on this post. No amount of money would make me give up computers and the net.

I used to work in IT, and I completely hated it. Now I just write the html part of Siliconhell and some quizzes for a living, I am back to loving computers and the internet.

If TV or other entertainment was of a better quality, it may force me to reconsider. But whilever TV is full of boring repeats and console games are so expensive, the internet will stay!

The problem with that is that if I was given loads of cash to give up computers. I wouldn't be able to use the ATM machine to get the cash.

I guess you could go into the branch.

So no satnav either, they're small computers. What about mobile phones? Is is a computer or things with computer chips in?
