I usually answer the phone with a european accent anyway. If it's bank's, telco's or telemarketer's I go full on. All in euro accent I ask them how there day is? Hows the wife/husband? Do they have children? How's there day? But all in broken english. They soon know not to call here anymore.

At work I never answer with my name - if it turns out to be a sales call and it is me they need to speak to I put them on hold then go back and tell them there is no answer from my phone - sorry to any members that may be cold callers!!

We normally get Cold Callers trying to sell us Insurance here
What I normally do, is let them make an appointment to see me... let them drive to my work, go thru there whole sales pitch, go back to there office, do an entire financial profile on me, make another appointment to see me and when they get back here, I say "Sorry, I'm really just not interested"  ... I know it's a little evil of me BUT I'm sick to death of these people... | ||||||||
