I freely admit that Im addicted to music
I like many types of music so I'll be probabley list quite a few names as the thread develops, feel free to do the same. Ok, my first hero is Ian Dury Ian Dury, who has died of cancer aged 57, was one of few true originals of the English music scene, the only man to successfully combine the energy and excitement of rock 'n' roll and funk with the bawdy humour, wit and home-spun philosophy of music-hall and of his native Essex. The fact that he had been crippled since childhood, and was severely ill during his final years as a performer, merely added to his stature. He was truly brave - both physically and in the way he approached his music. Whats more I loved his music. This Track Inspires Me!

Ok, most people on here know I like metal, goth and other alternative music, but my musical heroes have nothing to do with these genres of music.
My first hero is Andres Segovia. He is a classical guitarist. I saw him when I was 11 when he came to Leeds, Uk to do a concert. I was in awe of him. A 90 year old man who was helped onto the stage by 2 people and helped off. But his playing was unreal. How can someone play so well? Another hero of mine is my uncle Hughie Jones. He used to be in a UK folk group called the Spinners and they toured the country for years. He is an excellent guitarist and song writer and he inspired me to learn a number of instruments when I was younger. I have included a YouTube clip of a song that he is performing and that he wrote as well to comemorate the Ship Ellan Vannin. MadCat
