Smile Back again

Hi Everyone,

I'm back finally. Have missed not being able to visit lately but that should no longer be an issue.

Hope you all had a great holiday season.

Looking forward to the banter.

Kaz

I don't know where to start...

Too cut a long story short... A colleague and I discovered some "unusual" financial transactions from my boss and his girlfriend at work so reported it to senior management.

This resulted in a huge and rather stressfull investigation, following
which they were both fired and criminally charged.

It has now become apparent that there may be more people involved as they made myself and my team redundant and replaced us all within a day.

Consequently I had to give back the work laptop that I used to use but finally bought my own PC and was connected yesterday (the first thing I did was to visit Siliconhell).

So HOORAY I'm back in operation and am having an extended break from working.

I worked at a place where some unusual transactions took place. When discovered it was not a nice enviroment to work in. Everybody was very nervous even though it was only two people that had been up to no good. The police got involved and many people where grilled. In the end one person did a runner and the police issued a warrant for his arrest. The company kept it very quiete and stopped people from discussing it. Rumours are that hundreds of thousands of pounds was misappropriated over a 10 year period

Its very very sad and disapointing that you have been made redundant as it cant have been easy for you to raise the issue in the first place

Anyway, welcome back

I can't believe that they made you redundent when you're the one who reported it. That's terrible.

back.

Any connection between your reality and mine is completly coincidental

Yes that is really unfair

Surely you have some recourse with the law...? There must be some governing body you could go to? Hopefullly they at least gave you a good redundancy pay out?

Hiya, welcome back.

Gosh, it sounds like you have had a really tough time. Not good.

I once found out by accident that a friend and colleague were copying customer databases and using them for his own business. I sat here really torn what to do. I ended up reporting him, which was really, really hard to do, but I did it because it was the right thing to do. He got fired and I lost a few friends over it, but thankfully kept my job. It is hard blowing the whistle on something isnt it?

Can you go to employment tribunal for unfair dismissal?

MadCat

I reject your reality and I substitute my own

Thanks Everyone,

You're right I could follow this up with an unfair dismissal claim, but to be honest it was so uncomfortable working there in the end, that it was a huge relief to be finished up. I don't think revisiting all the stress would be worth while.

No doubt management will come crawling back when they need witnesses for the civil action when they try to recoupe the millions, Good luck!
