Default Pet names

Yet another "top 10" list has been published:

Her reputation has nose-dived - but Britney Spears has new popularity in the canine world. She is one of the celebrities Britons are most likely to name their dog after.

Tyson, after boxer Mike Tyson, is top, followed by Harry, after Prince Harry or the boy wizard Harry Potter.

Ozzy, inspired by Ozzy Osbourne, was third, followed by Robbie (Williams), Rooney (Wayne), Beckham (David), Hilton (Paris), Elvis (Presley) Wallace (Jessie) and Britney (Spears).

Pet charity PDSA looked at the names of pets that visited its 47 PetAid hospitals in 2007 for the research and discovered an increase in celebrity names.

Beckham named his two dogs Snoop and Puffy after the US rap stars and Joss Stone's poodle is named after Dusty Springfield.
The research was carried out to mark the launch of the charity's Pet Pawtraits Calendar.

:: Top Ten
1. Tyson (Mike)
2. Harry (Potter or Prince)
3. Ozzy (Osbourne)
4. Robbie (Williams)
5. Rooney (Wayne)
6. Beckham (David)
7. Paris (Hilton)
8. Elvis (Presley)
9. Jessie (Wallace)
10. Britney (Spears)

Whatever happened to "Rover" and "Scruffy"???

Lol - That's a bit nasty!!

I'm surprised about Ozzy being 3rd. I'm a massive Ozzy fan and all things metal, however it took me 3, yes 3 !!! days to come up with Ozzy for a name for our kitten. He went through a number of names before Ozzy dawned on us!

MadCat

P.S Some of the other names he went through that weekend were (in no specific order)
Angus (after Angus Young, God guitarist from AC/DC)
Zvie (Hebrew word for youth)
Lucky (as he was rescued from a box in a local park)
A few unmentionable swear words
Snowy
Batman (Coz his tabby markings on his back are the shape of the bat logo)
Fluffy (as his coat is so thick)

They all failed as they either didn't sound right when we said them, or I refused to shout them out of the front door at all those times I have to call him inside!

My dog is called Pepe after Pepe Le Pugh. When he was a pup he had a stripe straight down his back so it seemed like a logical choice lol!

We also have a cat called Puddin'. When we got her as a kitten we couldnt think of a name, so i started calling her Puddin' just as some sort of reference cos i didnt like calling 'cat' and about 6 months later we realised that we hadnt thought of a name yet cos we all just got used to it! Whenever we take her for check-ups at the vet and they ask her name, they always say "oh Puddin'? is that the one that isnt fat?". I think they all think we're a bit mad! lol!

Love the name, and the reason, for Pepe. As for the vet thinking you are mad because of "Puddin" - I think being mad is a requirement for ALL cat owners isn't it??
