I'm bored and it's quiet at work so I was reading this thread again and remembered some things I did.

I remember the morning ater a sleepover and my friend and I were in our sleeping bags pretending to be caterpillars, it was the type of sleeping bags with hoods, they were actually army issue. We were crawling on our stomachs when my mum called us down for breakfast. So we crawled out into the hallway and I decided (in my great wisdom) to slide down the stairs in the sleeping bag.

I obviously didn't think it through because I slid really fast (those sleeping bags slide very well on carpets) and crashed head first into the front door. Followed by my friend creating a two person pile up.

We weren't hurt. Don't think I've laughed so much in my life

Thats made me remember that me and my brother used to slide down the stairs too

If we got bored of that we would pile cushions at the bottom of the stairs. Then we would start from the bottom step jumping onto the cushions, each turn you would climb a step higher. Eventually jumping from the top step. On hinsight it was daft and dangerous, but great fun

when I was a kid, my mom kept chickens. One day while digging up worms in the chicken coop I put the garden fork through my foot. I was fine until I had to tell what I had done. Then I blarted like a kid - well I was about 11 years old
I also picked up curling tongs which had been on for a number of hours - it didn't do much for my hand - no scaring though ----Luckily
I also tipped boiling fat over my wrist while moving a deep fat frier - that went into the bin - the deep fat frier (not my wrist)

I did that once with a soldering iron (and not when I was a kid)... I was under a desk, trying to connect up a twisted pair cable to an RS-232 connector(Yes, I'm talking quite a long time ago here) and I reach up onto the desk to grab the soldering iron and grabbed the hot end by mistake

Stupid of me really and quite funny looking back on it now altho it was pretty painful at the time

Years ago I was placing a load of components in a PCB and I leant my arm on the soldering iron. Not only did I burn my arm but I scatered the components everywhere

I've burnt my hand many times in recent years on my hair straighteners (they go up to 230 degrees!) I also managed to put my foot between the plates when they were open and burnt the bottom of my foot That was painfull because I had to walk on it all the time.
