Snowing In Johannesburg..

It snowed in Johannesburg this morning...

The last time it has snowed here was 1981...It's been 26 years
I was only 12 Years old then...

I've attached a couple of Pics I took this morning...

It's only a little bit of snow - and I see there are still blue skies there, much better than here (and even with the snow could be warmer than London at the moment!).

That looks so nice..It's never snowed here in my life time. It's cold, wet and miserable on this side of the world too and we are still in the worst drought ever.

Was about an Inch of snow... that's really a lot of snow for Johannesburg but I know nothing when compared to the UK...
I beleive it's not very warm in the UK at the moment. I'm originally from the UK. My entire family bar my Brother are over their and they say it's cold and overcast at the moment..
It was down to -5 Celcius here last night, was 0 Celcius at 8 am when I took these pics and is around 4 Celcius now (12:50 PM)... faaaaaar to cold for my liking

Yeah, little James was having a ball, not something he's gonna get to see too often either, unless we move back to the UK (which I'm seriously considering doing)...
sadly I had to go to work and when I got in, no one besides from 1 or 2 people were here...(they all called in sick )

wow! i bet it was nice to see it again after all those years lol! wish it was snowing here. I dont know about the rest of the country, but we're having the worst floods on record for Yorkshire at the minute. So far 3 people have been killed. we had a months worth of rain fall in 24hours-wettest month ever recorded! I have friends who have had to stay in emergency shelters because their houses are under 5 feet of water, its been aweful!

Guess the whole global warming thing is actually happening tho, you have snow and we have flooding, its only gonna get worse! you never know, snow might be something you see every year from now on!

It was nice... actually had a Snowball fight with my wife this morning... I opened the car door and she missed me completely and threw a snowball into my (practically) brand new car

I beleive the floods have been quite bad their...it's really sad...
We have a lot of poor homeless ppl here... this cold weather actually isn't very good as I know the last cold spell we had, a few ppl died from exposure...

Wonder if this is to do with Global Warming???? I remember colder winters than this but as I say, it hasn't snowed in Johannesburg for 26 years (we did have sleet last year but it melted before it even touched the ground)...

BTW! Welcome back... glad to hear you had a good holiday even if nobody spoke English

My mum lives in high ground in Leeds and has been saying "It won't flood here", but yesterday the rugby club was flooded to over the bar level!! What a waste of beer.

We've been watching the pictures of the flood on the TV, can't believe they shut the M1.. very unusual!
