Users posting rubbish

Seing as i cant reply in the 'Mods & Admin' section, i just thought i'd put my pennies worth in anyway!

I think its a good thing that people can download answers without posting. When i first started posting on here, i tried to say 'hi & welcome' to everyone who posted in newbie corner, but there's that many of them that really are just saying hi for the sake of the quizzes and never intend to read the forum again that it just seems pointless taking the time to acknowledge them! That also means that anyone who might actually want to post on the forum might get ignored too & be put off doing it again!

Is there any way of inserting a template for newbies to use so they post a certain amount of info? or just something for them to copy & paste? I think its easier to reply & start a conversation if they've already given us a bit of info about themselves.

Oh, and as for the forum being quiet over the past few days, i'm guilty too! Dont have access to the internet at home at the moment cos mum tried to 'fix' it! I can only come on here when i'm at work! lol!

I have been just as guilty, playing games rather than posting!

Im not sure about the template, so will look into it. But as you so correctly say, they have no intention of reading the forum again so it seems needless in a way.. will have a think about that one..

I'll hold my hands up too, i dont think i have posted for well over a week now maybe longer, but 4 of those days i was in Holland and 2 days after that i was recovering, (catching up on some sleep) lol, plus ive been sorting thru dart player profiles to go on the website that hubby manages...but thats no excuse cos i could have posted that i was back, but seeing that madcat has got the high score on marjong connect, i just had to play to beat her score and im still trying lol...well done madcat on getting the high score

Holland was absolutely fantastic, and it just gets better every year, me and hubby had to get dart player profiles so we had passes to the VIP room, its so nice to see the other side of dart players, went out with a couple of them on the friday night had something to eat then found a pub with a dartboard, it let them have a bit of a practise before saturdays game...even got one coming to stay the weekend of my sons 2nd birthday, but the whole weekend u are non stop laughing, i had a blast, just waiting for flights to come out for november now as there is another dart tournament in Holland

Not sure if i can put a link in here but if u look at my profile u will see the website that hubby manages, i think he has done well considering he had no idea how to do a webpage, and everything on there is all trial and error..
