Window cleaner 'nodded off' - on the 20th floor
A window cleaner fell asleep on the job - while working on the 20th floor of a US skyscraper. Passers-by in Nashville, Tennessee, called the fire department after noticing the man was not moving. Assistant Fire Chief Lee Bergeron told the Tennessean it "looked like he just fell asleep". The man came to after firefighters tugged on his ropes, then held up a sign from inside the window to get his attention. The window cleaner lowered himself to the pavement, where he walked over to an ambulance to be examined by paramedics. Leroy Anderson, who watched the man for 30 minutes before fire engines arrived, said: "I figured he had just either passed out or maybe he had fallen asleep. It's sunny and warm up there, and there's no wind." I have to admit that I have been in a meeting at work and nearly fallen asleep. Its a weird feeling as your eyes get heavier, the noise levels reduce and increase, and then finaly your head drops. Then all of a sudden you wake up only to find people staring at you So my question to you is: Have you ever fallen asleep or had a snooze at work :?: Tell us about it ;-)

Mento's are available in the UK. In Tenerife we did buy one of those 5L bottles of water, filled it will Coke and a whole packet of Mentos, and it was ver disappoitning, it just fizzed a bit, and went over the sides. No jet fountain or anything, think the hole in the top was too wide, and needs a small one to build up the pressure. I have tried it in the UK with coke and Mentos, and it does work, have it on my mobile!!!

I think the neighbours would go mad if we sprayed coke over the roof of their beloved conservatory! A couple of years ago we had a water fight in the garden and they came out and asked us to stop spraying their conservatory!! It's only water !!!! Some people are so sad.. who do they ask to stop when it's raining?
So, I think coke and mentos spraying over their plastic roof may give them both a heart attack!! MadCat

back to the initial post, has this mythbusters covered the thing with jumping in a falling lift? When I was little we got out of a lift in our hotel on holiday, and the people that got in after us fell 7 floors to the basement-even though i was only about 6 at the time, I knew it was a close call from everyone's reactions around me.
No one was killed, but most had shattered legs or pelvis from hitting the bottom-there was a child who was unharmed because he was in his mums arms & she took the strain of it. I've wondered ever since whether they would have been any better off if they jumped at the right time! |
