The Dying Man - True Love

An elderly man is lying on his death bed. Barely awake and weak with fever he smells the wonderful aroma of chocolate chip cookies - his favourite and his wife's signature dish - from the kitchen.

He climbs out of bed full of love for his wife - she had baked his favourite cookies as a last meal. Wincing at the pain, he struggles his way downstairs and crawls to the kitchen.

Pushing open the door with his head, he makes his way to the table and pulls himself up. There, on the table on the best tray are the cookies, still warm from the oven. His wife is at the sink washing up the baking gear.

He reaches across the table, tears in his eyes and his arthritic fingers close on the nearest one.

Then, SMACK!!! A wooden spoon crashes against his hand and he drops the cookie back on the tray. Responing to his look of horror and confusion his wife says:

"#$%^ off, they're for the funeral".

Brilliant! And ain't it the truth these days?!
