OK OK I have just caught up with whats going on...

I feel quite ill and am about to burst into tears for you Madcat. I understand this was a family member who said this? Cancel this dress and keep the old one. If you act like you don't know about it, you can get back at them by being more extravagant with the renewal. Karma will find its way.

Don't let it bother you, this day is for you and Mike, and you two are the only two people in the world that matter on your day, nobody else. For the short time I have been on this site, I have heard you two go through a lot more harder situations than this. You are a beautiful couple and others should and will be jealous of what you two have.

The dress saga continues. After talking to Trading Standards last week I wrote to the firm, giving them a week to give me a refund. The week was up on Tuesday, so I rang today to be told I am entitled to nothing, not even a credit note.

I have spoken to trading standards again and written them another letter, but I have a bet with Mike that we won't see that money again.. and it's a few hundred quid..

let's just say I am not very happy today - hence the mood icon!

I think they are con artists and thieves.

I've just seen some photo's on my friend's wedding party. I'm in a couple. If I didn't think I had to lose weight before I definately do now!

I look unhealthy.

I've found a new martial arts class. I'll go up on Monday and have a look. That'll help me get fit again.

I am currently having the same problem Madcat (funnily enough). I went to try some dresses on and was convinced into buying a dress that was nice (they all are, THEY'RE WEDDING DRESSES), it was the second one I tried on, but when i hopped onto the internet to have a look I decided that I didn't like it. I put a few hundred deposit on it, and because I felt I was forced into it, I want to change my mind but I can't. They wont even let me have another dress.

Mum says I should just forfeit the money and choose another dress, but I'm angry at how they can rip us brides off.

No way - sorry to hear you are going through the same thing. Some traders are snakes.

I know of someone who put deposits on 3 made to measure dresses, got them made and changed her mind and got her money back each time.. I guess it depends where you bought it...

Do you have a trading standards or consumer direct agency there? It's like free legal support for consumers. They are helping me with my case.

The shop here got another letter from me on Friday, sent by signed for mail so I know they will get it.. however they rejected delivery on Saturday. I think they knew it was from me! I will be back on the phone to consumer direct today!

I hope you get it sorted. Don't forfeit your cash without a fight.. in a wedding that cash is always needed for something else.
