Sorry to hear about your friend and I hope you are feeling ok. I've had a few colonoscopys in my day...I have Crohns Disease....something similar to Ulcerative Collitis. Hopefully it will be nothing serious. I was out of work sick with Crohns last year. Had to have an Operation but the upside is I would never have found this site if I wasn't sick. Thinking of you and I always light a candle for someone who is sick and have one lit for you. Hope you get good news on your test results.

Hellcat - you poor thing having Crohn's Disease. One of my mum's friends daughters has that and she has had to have loads of ops due to it. It doesn't sound a pleasant thing to have.
Thank you for my candle, it is a lovely thought. It means a lot, lets hope it works huh MadCat

No it's not that bad really. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and that is very true. You just either feel sorry for yourself or get up off your A&*e and get on with it.
I always try to remember that there are other people worse off than me. Your Candle is still lighting. Picked a nice lavender one. Should have a calming relaxing effect....well on me anyway Hellcat....

That is very sad.. I hate seeing crashes as it brings back terrible memories (my dad was killed in a car crash). It always makes me feel sorry for the families of the people involved

Finding the immediate results from my camera tests today. I had one down the throat and then followed by one up the other end. Not very pleasant.. however seeing your insides on a big colour monitor in front of your face is a totally weird but cool experience.
They took some bipsies but think it's either Crohn's Disease (most probable) or severe ullcerative colitis. Neither are brilliant results, but are manageable and then I know where I stand and can get back on with my life. The results made me sad, but the second test was the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life - not something I want to repeat, although I know I have to - that's made me the saddest today! hey madcat...Sorry to hear you news. Wouldn't wish either on my worse enemy...well maybe my worse enemy but not my second worse enemy....
Join the club if its Crohns. I've had it for over twenty years and I can while it can be bad sometimes, if you do what the doctors tell you, take you meds the way you should and try and keep a positive outlook it won't interfer too much with you normal day to day life. I have a few up the other end tests too... did they not sedate you? I'm always sedated so you don't feel a thing. Positive thoughts and I have two lovely rose scented candles lighting for you tonight. If it's Crohns and you want to ask questions privately, I can let you have my e-mail address....always willing to listen and answer any questions you might have.. I know I had loads when I was diagnosed but the only two I could think of at the time I was asked by the Doctor was 1. Will I die? and 2. Can I drink? That one really shows i'm Irish

Thanks hellcat.
Your questions made me laugh!! I have done a lot of reading today on the net about Crohns and it doesnt sound too bad. Yes, I was sedated, (with 2 lots and buscopan) but I am so inflamed I was in intense pain and crawling up the sides of the bed.. knocked out the Ventflon and bled everywhere! Next time I have it done I am going to insist that I am asleep, or I wont let them do it! I have found a few trigger foods already, why is it always the things you really like?? It's just plain unfair! I love egg mayo and tuna mayo and anything with full fat mayo makes me flare up badly.. Will have to look for alternatives! MadCat
