.... ok, make that "I know NOTHING about football" - but how can any one person be worth £70,000 a day???? Maybe it's just me, but that seems an obscene amount of money for kicking a ball round, no matter how well you do it, for a few hours every week.

I realise that those of you out there who know more about football than me (that would be everybody) will no doubt disagree, but I thought I'd get it off my chest anyway :-?

Oh, and in case you don't know who I'm talking about, it's David Beckham of course - and his move stateside.

Do you see all that fuss over the footy player who punched a guy during a match and broke his jaw :?: They where surprised that he has a custodial sentence, *DUH* he assualted a guy, he deserves punishment :!:

He isnt above the law just because he was on the pitch

You are so right - they think that because it's a "game" only the FA rules apply, not the general rules the rest of the world is supposed to abide by - and yes, this could also be described as a rant!

It is a disgusting thing when you read about a footballer being payed that much money - I'm sure there are people out there who would deserve that money.

I saw in a paper that over 5 years David Beckham wages will break down like this.

or £70k a Day
or £3k an hour
or £50 a Minute
and 80p a second!!

Im not that much into ball sports, I much prefer motor sports.

My favourite is F1, now I know that a lot of people find it boring and that its just a load of cars going round and round. But I like it, and it is even better if you go to the track an watch it :!:

You cant knock Becks for what has happened,If my boss offered me an obscene amount of money to do my job i wouldnt turn it down.Just remember this,if you dont ask you dont get.Also as for the player who hit a guy and got sent down,OK he hit a guy but i cant help feeling that if the BBC were not filming it he wouldnt be in prison.It happens all the time at all levels in pretty much all team sports.You cant have one rule for one and one for another.
