Aussie rules and ARL....

Hi everyone! I know technically this is a sports post, but since no one seems to read the sports posts, this was the next logical port of call ;-)

I'm sure all the other Aussies around would agree with me when I say that this coming weekend is arguably the biggest sporting weekend of the year, with both the Aussie Rules and Australian Rugby League grand finals being played. So I have 3 questions...

1. Are the matches shown in other countries around the world, and does anybody watch them?

2. What do non-Aussies think of Australian Rules Football?

and 3. Who's going to win the finals?! (Sydney Swans vs West Coast Eagles in the Aussie Rules final, and Brisbane Broncos vs Melbourne Storm in the Rugby League, for the uninitiated)

I'll stick my neck out and choose the Swans and the Broncos to win.

I don't really care who wins the ARL grand final. I just hope it's a good game!!!

I agree with you there. On form, I think it should be a great match. Broncos with almost 90 points in their last 2 games, vs the Storm who have been rock solid all season - talk about an immovable object and the irresistable force! I think this has been the best finals series I've ever seen to be honest, all of the matches have been absolute rippers!

Aussie Rules are shown here, but at around 3am in the morning so not really a time when I am awake to watch it!

When I was in Melbourne in 94 I went to a match at the MCG.. what a day.. it's so much better than the footie here (I know I will be in for some stick for that comment, but it's true!)
