Went to the movies to see "Dan in Real Life" and really enjoyed it.

Hired the DVD of "Capricorn One" the other day - talk about a ham acting job, especially Eliot Gould. When we watched it when it was first released in the 80's it was a really good movie - how time changes things!

I watched Live Free or Die Hard (Die Hard 4.0) this is the review I gave it on Facebook.

"As a fan of the first 3 movies, I think I would prefer to have my eyelids glued open and be forced to watch something like Tango and Cash.
What an OVERexagerATED lot of (expletive removed). I can't believe they actually charged people to waste a couple of hours of their lives."

Wink

Dan in Real Life is a 2007 US Rom/Drama/Comedy rated PG. Synopsis:
Dan Burns (Steve Carell) is a local newspaper advice columnist. He has three daughters and is a widower. He brings the family to his parent's house for a family get-together. When Dan goes to a local bookstore, he meets a woman, Marie (Juliette Binoche). They chat, and feel a connection before she gets a call and bolts. When he gets home, he finds out to his surprise that Marie is his brother Mitch's girlfriend, but not before he mentions that he met a hottie at the bookstore. Dan tells Marie that they should not mention the bookstore incident to the family. The family starts liking Marie, while Dan can't keep his eyes off her, gets envious and starts to behave strangely. Over the next few days ,the two go back and forth in forbidden love and a few laughs.

My husband and I rated it 4/5.

An interesting aside - Steve Carell is the voice of Hammy in Over the Hedge, and will play Maxwell Smart in the remake of Get Smart (to be released later this year).

Thumbs up

I have just watched In pursuit of Happyness with Will Smith - a true story and wholly inspirational. It is the story of Chris Gardner and his struggle to better himself to provide a future for himself and his son. A real feel good film, however I did feel exhausted after watching it as the film manages draw you into all the emotions he goes through. I would highly recommend it.
