Default PS3 Recommendation

We got our PS3 today, it's well cool.

There are loads of neat features on it, it connected to our home wireless network really easily. It was dead easy to setup and connect, really quick to get going.

It's quiet when running and the game we bought for it (motorstorm) is fantastic.

It's quite pricey, but it's worth every penny.

We downloaded some demo's and a full version of Tekken from the online shop. We have created accounts but not got any email saying we are getting DVD.

It's so addictive. Not tried fall of man yet

I tried Resistance Fall Of Man yesterday. I have never played games of that type before, so I am pretty naff but with practise I'm sure I will get better.. in fact I intend a practise session this afternoon a very addictive game

Thumbs up

I love it I have'nt got any sport or other type games for my ps2 & I cant see it being any different with my ps3 all Monster Munch says when I get a new game is no shouting at it

But saying that I am waiting for Oblivion & thats role play come combat & tasks I quite like the idea of trying to be as high up in the guilds as the game will let me go before I follow the games planed route

I am not into RPG's at all.. spent enough time watching an ex play them when I was a teenager. It put me off for life!! I'm mainly into driving games like Need For Speed... but I can understand the draw to RFOM. Very addictive game, although I am still totally rubbish at it!!

I also swear at the console !! Especially when playing Tekken 5 with my 15yr old stepson. What I think and what I instinctively say (no swearing around kids!) are different... but the thought is the real emotion.. not the "Oh Fishcake" statement! How can he beat me 18 times in a row and still want to play again ?? Hasn't the feeling of elation at beating an old goth worn off by then!!! He even said he was looking forward to playing all week until saturday when we see him... sounds like he enjoys the prospect of knocking out my dignity and any feeling that I have that I may be OK at that game!

No, I guess he's just from a generation that are naturally better at these things than us old gits !

Yeah, nicks (Mike's lad) is exactly the same. When he came here a few weeks ago we were playing need for speed: Carbon, then later that week he was at a friends house and texted us to say he had completed a level... and gave detailed description. He also remembers keys and moves of players in Tekken which he hasnt played for a year.. some memory! Lucky thing!

How old is your lad? I think you may have said but i can't remember sorry!

Between myself & Monster Munch we have four kids each having one of each my boy's 14 in may & his sister is 16 the day before
(It was'nt planned that way )

He was trying to convince me a PS3 was a good thing for there birthdays so I countered with does your sister want a half share in a PS3??
Though he assures me she does & as the ps2 was both theres & she does'nt get a look in i'll work on the assumption she's coming up to 16 & will want a spending spree on clothing rather than a half share PS3 which she wont get a look in at

We bought him a steering wheel for his car games last year which he loves as long as its games & acceseries for the ps2 we cant go wrong for prezzies

I've long looked at the driving seets you can buy in the playstation magazine & bulked at the price of em & found reasons for not buying one
1- I dont play driving games
2- There a lot of money
3- Monster Munch would divorce me if one of them got put in our bed room

We bought Nick a wheel a year or so ago, but they are so bulky and need to be on a table etc.. so it was really a pain! There is no coffee table in our lounge where our PS3 is, there is no room for an extra seat .. so dont think we will be getting one!I'd rather spend the cash on something else...

And, I think you are right, a 16yr old girl would prefer money for clothes!
