I am looking to purchase the best flat-screen TV I can to watch footy and other stuff on.
Dont have the worlds biggest budgest, £400, may push to £450 if something outstanding for those extra few pounds. Obvioulsy Plasmas are nowhere in this price range so are LCD TVS any good? Would you recommend it being HDTV Ready as I am sure I saw a programme on this and does not mean much in itself. So, with the budget in mind what do you recommend I purchase to watch Pompey in the best quality I can? Did start looking t Kelkoo but there are sooo many which is where I decided to opt for advice!! Changing it around a bit what are the top 3 qualities you would look for in a LCD TV, and what is the minimum standard you should look for ie its not worth having one super-super feature if everything else is compromised! I know I could go to Currys or wherever and ask them, but half the time are being sold by barely out of school teenagers who are only going to sell you the one which makes the the most commission, and by the time it breaks down after 3 months they have left the company and working next door in Carphone Warehouse. Many thanks

Portsmouth gave the world Charles Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle, Isambard Kingdom Brunel,
James Callaghan, Rudyard Kipling, Peter Sellers and the greatest club in the Premiership. Never adopt a dwarf with learning difficulties. Its not big, and its not clever!! |

You are such a cynic!!
We have a Panasonic 42" plasma.. it's wonderful. My mum has 2 LCD 15" TVs at her house and they cost about £300 from Miller Brothers (now gone out of business) and they are really good. You can get some good ones for under £400 but they will be small. MadCat

Have you looked at www.ebuyer.com :?: They have some great prices and a lot of the products have comments. I cant comment on LCD as we have a 42' Panasonic Plasma I watched Wigan beat Pompey on it ;-) Mike...
