Yeah I agree. Google Earth is much easier to navigate.

Yes Google earth better interface but was saying that one can mark their place on this and anyone using the search feature can immediately locate the spot with extreme ease. Either way.... Google rules!!!

I thought that it may be intresting to get an idea of where in the World our Siliconhell friends live.

I have attached a Google Maps that indicates my location

note that they must be zipped before you can attach them in the Forum ;-)

See that is exactly what i meant on the wikimapia site we could locate our place and mark it with an underscore SILICONHELL at eh end so the moment one searched for SILICONHELL everyones listing would appear so need for attachments.... Just a thought! :-k

Google Earth is great, but the images have been updated.

The USAF site at RAF Fairford used to have an image of a U2 spy plane on the apron, but it is now gone !!!

The great CIA flight debate.... just have a look at Prestwick and tell me why there are StageCoach buses around the USAF planes ?

Anyway another one that is out there is from Microsoft.

Some areas have a 'birds-eye view' down to 25m ! Give a go and see. Again it is in Beta so don't expect everything to be there.

Use the scroll on the mouse to zoom in/out and left click and drag the map around.

Thats not bad, I get better reults for my house from Google though. The sad thing is that the Google images for my area are about 7 years old I can tell because I can see my old car in front of my house

I downloaded the latest version of Google Earth today. It looks and runs much better.

The map of my location is still quite a few years old though

hxxp://local.live.com

has been updated for the uk. most place now have 'birds eye view'. The picture quality for my house is much better than GoogleEarth.

I think it depends on where you live to which site is best.
