Default Bacon Numbers

Six degrees of separation is the hypothesis that anyone on Earth can be connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances with no more than five intermediaries.
In other words, I know someone, who knows someone, who knows someone, who knows someone, who knows someone, who knows YOU. Obvioulsy it could be less than six...
Based upon this hypothesis, students at Virginia Universty, devised a Game called Bacon numbers .
Basically a Bacon number is the number of actors seperating an actor from Kevin Bacon in the shortest possible link... for example

Alfred Hitchcock was in Show Business at War (1943) with Orson Welles, and
Orson Welles was in A Safe Place (1971) with Jack Nicholson, and
Jack Nicholson was in A Few Good Men (1992) with Kevin Bacon!
Therefore, Alfred Hitchcock has a Bacon number of 3.

Soooo.... based on all of this...

Name as many Actors as you can with a Bacon number of 3 or higher...

I will give 25 Tokens for each Actor with a Bacon number of 3
50 Tokens for an Actor with a Bacon Number of 4
and 100 Tokens for an Actor with a Bacon Number of 5 or above....

Competition runs until the end of November...

I will use this website The Oracle Of Bacon as a reference...

Good Luck and happy Bacon Hunting....

To err is human. To ARRR is pirate.

What does that say about Virginia University students having too much free time on their hands!

Let's have a crack at this then.
John Lithgow and Kevin Bacon were both in 'Footloose' (1984)
Mike Myers and John Lithgow both provided voices for 'Shrek' (2001)
Robert Wagner and Mike Myers were both in 'Austin Powers' (1997)
Steve McQueen and Robert Wagner were both in 'The Towering Inferno' (1974)
Eli Wallach and Steve McQueen were both in 'The Magnificent Seven' (1960)
and Lee van Cleef and Eli Wallach were both in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' (1966). Does that give Lee van Cleef a Bacon Number of 6 then? Is that how this works or have I missed something?

Sadness is just another word for not enough coffee...

Okay, my fault... you have the right idea, however, I failed to mention, it has to be the shortest possible link...

i.e.

Lee Van Cleef was in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' (1966) with Eli Wallach
Eli Wallach was in Mystic River (2003) with Kevin Bacon

Therefore, Lee van Cleef has a Bacon number of 2...

Sooo, Lee van Cleef does not qualify

I just found an infinite Bacon Number....

The Oracle of Bacon at Virginia
Jennifer Holland (II) has a Kevin Bacon number of infinity.
Jennifer Holland (II) cannot be linked to Kevin Bacon using only feature films.

About 12% of all actors cannot be linked to the rest of the movie universe, either because they have appeared only in TV features or straight-to-video releases that the Oracle doesn't count, or because they have not appeared in any features with actors from the Hollywood mainstream.

I think I've found a couple of actors with Bacon Number of 3.

John Cena was in "The Marine" (2006) with Robert Patrick
Robert Patrick was in "Charlie's Angels 2" (2003) with Demi Moore
Demi Moore was in "A Few Good Men" (1992) with Kevin Bacon

Kelly Carlson was also in "The Marine" (2006) with Robert Patrick
Robert Patrick was in "Charlie's Angels 2" (2003) with Demi Moore
Demi Moore was in "A Few Good Men" (1992) with Kevin Bacon

Considering how prolific Kevin Bacon is, and how many big stars have a Bacon Number of 1 (e.g. Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Tommy Lee Jones, Jack Nicholson, Bill Murray, Duston Hoffman, Gary Oldman, Julia Roberts.....) this is WAY trickier than I first thought. :-k ](*,)

Unfortunately no... even though Kelly Carlson was in "The Marine"
she was also in Paparazzi (2004) with Fay Masterson
Fay Masterson was in We Married Margo (2000) with Kevin Bacon
So Kelly Carlson has a bacon number of 2

You can check all your answers here: - The Oracle Of Bacon

Yes, this is no where near as easy as it looks....

Altho, I've found (and here's a big hint) that if you go for the older actors, for example your Errol Flynns and Humphrey Bogarts, you find they have higher bacon numbers... altho not as high as you would imagine as these both have Bacon Numbers of 2 thanks to Eddie Albert

Humphrey Bogart was in Wagons Roll at Night, The (1941) with Eddie Albert
Eddie Albert was in Big Picture, The (1989) with Kevin Bacon
Errol Flynn (I) was in Roots of Heaven, The (1958) with Eddie Albert
Eddie Albert was in Big Picture, The (1989) with Kevin Bacon
