I'm sooooooooooooo jealous!!! Would love to go on any sort of safari, but can't make it to Africa. Mind you, now they are opening one in Kent, so maybe I'll just have to go there instead!! (http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article....34&in_a_source=)

"An overnight stay - at £175 per adult - on the 40-hectare (100-acre) site includes an evening meal and a 90-minute 'safari', as well as a tour of the main Port Lympne park. 'This has to be the answer to those suffering the credit crunch who would love to visit the wilds of Africa on safari,' said a spokeswoman." ![]() I think it's actually cheaper to Fly to South Africa and stay at the Kruger National Park... A 4 - 6 sleeper Chalet is +- R650-00/night (that's for the chalet, not per person)... That works out to +-£43.00/night for everyone... doesn't include food but then, in true african tradition, you'd have a camp fire and a BBQ most nights... A Game Drive is around R500-00/person(+-£33.00/person) and entrance to the Park itself is +- R100-00/person(£7.00/person) for your entire visit (so if you stayed 6 nights, you'd only pay the entrance fee once)... the only expensive part would be the Air Fare which is around £500-00/person return... I know your other half doesn't like to fly tho

Here in Melbourne we also have a great African Open Range Zoo.
I went years ago and loved it, was only AU$20.00 to get in. Was well worth the money. Apparently they've improved many enclosures or paddocks now, so i'm due to go again. I loved the whole African animal experience. I recommend anyone who can to go at some stage in their lives. They're great.
