Default Yet more gobbledegook!

If you're about to lob a few thought grenades across the office, be careful they don't blow up in your face.

Otherwise a session of blamestorming could follow.

The above sentences may sound like gobbledygook, but in fact they showcase some of the latest lines in workplace lingo.

Apparently a "thought grenade" is an explosively good idea.

This phrase became fashionable among office staff last year, as did the expression "Let's sunset that" - which is used to refer to bad ideas that must never be mentioned again.

Every worker knows the pain of recriminations the day after a project has gone horribly wrong.

Now it has a name - blamestorming - which strictly speaking means debating with colleagues why a deadline was missed and who was responsible.

Blamestorming is predicted to be one of the buzzwords of 2008, as is "boss-spasming". This describes those moments of suddenly looking busy as the boss walks past.

Both phrases are included in a collection compiled by the recruitment firm Office Angels.

The firm admits that some of the words and phrases could be a little tricky to understand.

For instance, the once simple joy of daydreaming has been transformed into a far more complex activity: workspace-specific perceptual abstraction.

If you are popping out for lunch with a colleague and want to make it sound more important then use this description: an inter-departmental liaison facilitation.

And if you say, "I've been spinning my wheels for some time, what I really need is some traction" -what you really mean is: I've been getting nowhere and really need to get to grips with this.

David Clubb, managing director of Office Angels, said yesterday: "Jargon is an inevitable part of office life and while it can often be regarded as baffling and frustrating, there are advantages to speaking the office lingo.
"These can range from bonding with a team to understanding mind-boggling conference calls."
He added, however: "While trendy jargon may be used as a short-cut, clear, simple communication will never go out of fashion."

Excuse me while I infuse some herbal leaves with heated H2O, add dairy product and rehydrate myself! ok, I'm just going to make a cuppa!!

I hate bussiness lingo, but "boss-spasming" is very descriptive
