Default Havant they done well!?

For all those who don't know, Havant and Waterlooville played Liverpool in the FACup this weekend just gone. They are 123 places lower than them in the League Ladder, and have normal jobs, such as a caretaker, a van driver, someone who is doing the 'knowledge' to become a London Cab Driver and a binman. They players who earn no more than £500 per week were playing against a star-studded Liverpool team whose average wages are more than £50,000 per week!!

================================================== =======

FA CUP heroes Havant and Waterlooville went on a massive 24-hour booze bender – and it didn’t cost them a penny.

Delighted football fans were happy to fund their marathon session after seeing Hampshire’s non-league battlers put two goals past mighty Liverpool.

Even Kop fans queued up to congratulate them. And Liverpool ace Jamie Carragher was so impressed, he joined them for a curry.

Havant may have lost 5-2, but they were still winners during a dream weekend that saw the players chalk up a £100,000 bill that was picked up entirely by wellwishers – including the team that beat them.

The Blue Square South team certainly earned it, having raked in a whopping £500,000 from the Anfield clash.

After the match, they downed free champagne in the dressing room. They then travelled back to the plush Radisson Hotel, where their bill was being paid by Liverpool FC.

They spent a couple of hours drinking in the hotel bar, before hitting the city for a huge celebration. Some of the players and staff went for a curry, where they were joined by Reds ace Carragher, 29. Others hit top Liverpool nightspot H Bar.

Havant’s team of van drivers, builders and even a bin-man were still toasting their efforts yesterday, when they were guests of honour at Manchester United’s clash with Spurs.

Proud manager Shaun Gale, 38, told the Daily Star: “The lads did magnificently and had a real go at beating Liverpool. We had a big celebration after the game. Some of the lads went on into town.

“I had my family with me, so a few of us ended up in an Indian restaurant. Jamie Carragher was there, too. He was kind enough to pose for pictures with me and my son Jake.

“There were a few sore heads the next morning.”

Havant striker Richard Pacquette, 24, who put the team ahead after eight minutes, admitted: “My head wasn’t too bad, but I couldn’t bring myself to drink at the Man U game.”

Portsmouth gave the world Charles Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle, Isambard Kingdom Brunel,
James Callaghan, Rudyard Kipling, Peter Sellers and the greatest club in the Premiership.

Never adopt a dwarf with learning difficulties.

Its not big, and its not clever!!
