Chocolate IS good for you - but don't get too excited

We've had the improbably low-fat cream cheeses and sugar-free fizzy drinks – and now we have healthy chocolate, one company claims today.
Two squares of dark or milk chocolate Choxi+ gives you your daily fix of antioxidants, equivalent to munching 450g (1lb) of Brussels sprouts or more than 2kg (5lb) of apples, says manufacturer Prestat.

The new sweet contains higher levels of flavonol antioxidants, which are believed to protect against heart disease and cancer.

The chocolate is made using a more gentle process that preserves more of the naturally occurring antioxidants found in cocoa, Prestat says.

But a word of warning before you begin to plan choccy treats for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bill Keeling, owner of Prestat chocolates, said: 'If you're going to be eating chocolate, this is the best chocolate you can get. However, it can't replace the nutrients and fibre found in fruit and vegetables.

'It should still be considered a treat but it's a treat that is much better for you than chocolate has ever been before,' he added.

And, although you may get all the antioxidants you need, you will also get more than enough calories to go with them.

The new sweet hits supermarket shelves today.

I got all excited - for a moment, then they went and mentioned calories!!

I'm not really a chocolate lover, i could go months without chocolate but every now and then, i do get a craving for chocolate, and when i get that craving i HAVE to have it lol

Holland is this Friday 2 sleeps to go lol, actually 1 sleep as i dont sleep on the thursday, we're out on thursday night and wont get in till gone midnight, by the time we have got home had a cuppa and got round to packing its about 2am so not really worth going to bed when i have to be up at 4am lol
