Default Have you met anyone famous?

Whilst on holiday to Tenerife just recently, outside a bar at 4am in the morning, I met Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton, and had my photograph taken with him.

Also, slighhtly lesser known, but a few weeks ago I played Martin 'Wolfie' Adams (the England Darts captain, 2004 British Singles Captain amongst many honours). for a game of arrows.

Whats your encounters with famous people?

Portsmouth gave the world Charles Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle, Isambard Kingdom Brunel,
James Callaghan, Rudyard Kipling, Peter Sellers and the greatest club in the Premiership.

I've met quite a few as I used to work at Granada TV!!

I met Philip Schofield as I was walking through the double doors in the corridor on my way to the smoking room. I was in a hurry, had my ciggie in my mouth and he opened the door into me and broke my ciggie. I said "You broke my cigarette!!" and walked off in a huff!!!

When I was 14 I was at a hotel for my dad's office Xmas do. I got on well with his boss' daughter and we were sat in the bar, when Dave Mustaine and Junior walked in (from the band MEGADETH). We sat talking to them for an hour or so and got free tickets to the gig the night after.

When on holiday in Melbourne we walked past the cinema as Yahoo Serious was getting out of his limo for the premiere of Ned kelly and he signed my autograph book and I got a picture with him.. although no-one in the UK knows who he is!! (and in my defence it was 14 years ago!)

When I was in B&Q earlier this year I met Ricky Tomlinson shooting an advert, but I never saw it on TV.

That's all I can remember...

Ive seen him interviewed a few times on TV, he seems a really nice guy. I wouldnt like to get on the wrong side of him though

If that's the case I'm sure all Australians wish they were from the UK so that they wouldn't have to know who he is either. It makes me shudder to remember him and his dreadful films.

I thought he was quite good in Young Einstein.

So, he is not popular over there then?

Well, dredging the old memory, when I was 13 Jimi Hendrix was doing a concert in my home town (Carlisle) and after hanging round the stage door for a while he came out and asked where the nearest Chinese was, so I grabbed one arm, my friend the other and we walked arm in arm to the restaurant! How cool was that

More recently (but still a long time ago) I stood beside George Best in Blushes wine bar on the King's Road.

Oh, and I nearly tripped over Wayne Sleep on Queensway.

Saw Paul Weller strolling round Covent Garden, saw John Cleese when I went to see Victoria Wood one night.

I have a feeling I've probably seen lots more round the streets of London, but I tend to think "they look familiar" but not being able to remember names!

Wow - that's amazing. To actually met Hendrix.. wow! I'd also love to meet John Cleese... he is such a funny man.

I also met that orange guy when I worked at Granada - not the one that does the Antiques show but George Hamilton is it? I was in a lift with him..

I also met Jimmy Saville whilst in Roundhay Park in Leeds. I was sat with my cousin who had come over from Melbourne, and he came up to us as we were ignoring him and chatting away and asked us -
"Do you know who I am? Why have you not come to talk to me?"

I thought it was well off he had come over looking to boost his ego and my cousin, who moved to Aus when she was 3 answered,

"No, who are you!"

I was in stitches laughing, and he walked off in a huff!
