Default Cat question

My cat C.J is around 6-7 years old (I can't remember). He has always been the kind of cat that gets into scrapes. Nothing serious just fighting with the bigger cats in the street. He got the odd scratch on his nose but never anything serious. He seems to be getting worse and last week he came in with a swollen eye. It's healing up now but it's made me concider getting him nutured.

Would getting him nutured make a difference or is he now too old and would still fight anyway (maybe out of habit)?

Any connection between your reality and mine is completly coincidental

Our first answer to such questions is always speak to a qualified vet. Even if its just a telephone call to ask for some free advice.

My own answer is: I dont think getting him nutured will help much. In the UK its that time of year for cats where they fight for territory and of course for the honour of meeting a lady cat.

I am concerened about his swollen eye as cats scratches and bites can frequently lead to infection. Cats mouths are full of nasty bugs! If it hasnt improved take him to the vets as soon as possible.

Something that may help with the fighting is keep him in at night (You may do this already).

That was my thinking exactly. It simply his nature so getting him nutured won't help. His eye is deffinetly healing although it is taking it's time. We are keeping it clean for him and keeping an eye (no pun intended) on it.

Unfortunatly this isn't always possible. He likes to go out at night and if we try to keep him in he becomes extreamly vocal and keeps us awake. He can be really loud. He also likes to come into our rooms and wake is up by jumping on our heads. My mum usually gives in at around 2am. I'll have to ask our local council about instaling a cat flap so he can come in to us if he likes.

I created this thread with the vague title so that it can accomadate any feline related question.

You can try bathing his eye with a warm solution of salt and water

Yeah I know its easier said than done keeping a cat in at night, especially when they have a date

Thanks,

I think he must be a bit of a stud. He's out every night!
